What would the fastest autopilot ship in eve, with overdrives or whatever etc..
A shuttle can manage 600 ms is there anything faster ?
I want to explore places a long way from home and intend to get there on auto (Hi-Sec)
Thx.

Autopilot dosen't turn on you MWD .
My take is on a Ceptor proly a sader or a claw

Whichever interceptor you can fly that has the highest base speed + low slots combo. I've had my ares do over 800 with all t2 overdrives in lows.

You don't even have to spend that kind of money, a Vigil with 3 x O/D injectors is just fine, amd you still have a reasonable cargo capacity for those long shopping trips.

True, but your Vigil will only warp at 4.5 AU/s (or is it 6? I always get that mixed up for T1 frigates), but my RaptorShuttle warps at 13.5 Au/s, so those long in-system warps will take me a lot less time.

True (6 AU/s), call it a wild guess, but I just bet that the OP can't fly a 'ceptor yet.
He can train for a Vigil in a few hours though.

I use a Malediction with 3 OD IIs and 2 warp speed rigs and a 10% warp speed implant
853m/s base speed, 21.3AU/s warp speed
the Ares can get a better base speed and the same warp speed but I chose the Mal for it's bonus to Armour Resists

Holding keys down works while flying about in space but as soon as you go through a jump gate you need to repress the key. So no, it doesn't work at all.

Would it be that if you flew to characters with the same nav skills and good gang bonuses would 2 ships be better than 1, or would one ship always end up taking the lead on the other?
Dont know the figures on this - just an idea, but the gang bouses would surely improve the speed quite significantly

stileto warps at 13.6 or so au/s plus can have a 700 m/s or so base speed. so would be one of the fastes.

With my skills + 3x OD II + 2x Aux Thrusters II rigs, I could go 904 m/s, 853 m/s w/o the rigs. Can go 893 m/s with 3x Domi OD

problem is that in long warps you gain some time, but when it comes to normal or short warps the time you gain max warp speed and the time you fall out of warp will "steal" you a lot of the time you have gained before.

I've never have to repress the key, i just don't touch anything.

Yes - quite often I don't get to max warp speed over the shorter Jumps, half the trip is acceleration other half deceleration - it will still make it faster than without unless the distance is so short that it can't make it past 13.5 (base warp speed for warp interceptor) and then they will take the same time, since acceleration in warp (AU/s^2) is the same with or with out rigs; I don't see how I 'lose time'. Over a long trip, say 30 jumps, I will make it quicker than unrigged ship.
Unless you suggesting putting speed rigs in instead, this did cross my mind but with 3 ODs the stacking penality made fitting speed rigs seem a bit superflous.

dunno realy, normaly when iam going thorugh high sec afk and have nothing in my cargo i use a shuttle, cause its aligment is quick and the top speed of 600ms+ is ok.
Cause when you travel afk its most likely that you are coming back when you have arrived and so there is no real need for a "warp fast" setup.
but its probally more fun going 21au then 6 :D

Thx for all the replies.
I am amazed, keeping F1 down constantly does indeed swith on your warpdrive automaticly !! Thanks for that top tip!
You have to move the warpdrive into the F1 hi-slot for it to work, but it works and works well!!

All you really notice is that it is over very quickly (why have I heard that before?)
you are right tho I generally AFK in a shuttle, I use the Mal for Transporting small items (and for the perceived epeen of going 21.3AU/s )
