So if you let everything spawn without killing the gate, will the mission ever reset so that the rats spawn over time again or are you basically screwed?
If you kill all the rats but not the gate, will they respawn after DT? If so do they spawn over time or all right away?

Even with my dominix's blistering 591 DPS I couldn't melt the gate before the 3rd wave. At that point I bailed and bowed out of the mission. I don't think the rats despawn. The mission might after DT, but I gave it up.

I've done it with less dps, don't go for the gate before rats are dead, move far away from the gate at warp in, like I said in the other thread.
I'm not 100% sure, but I think the mission will start over from the beginning when you initiate warp to it after next DT, not before. I'm pretty sure that's what happened, but not completely sure.

I can confirm that this works, farmed it now and then for tags that way.

Cheers for the offer of help but I can do it solo I'm sure, I just messed up royally by not moving far enough away as it was my first time doing the mission. And I'm in low sec anyway (and not on this char).

I cleaned the room first , then worried about the gate , and solo . ( not Han Solo :)

Done it with my alt. Cleared 1st 2 waves and had to warp out cause i had ppl over. Came back 30 minutes later, warp in and almost got insta nuked as i had about 12 BSs within 15km of me :)
Had to equip much harder tank and do drive-by attacks for next hour till all tempests/typhoons and liberty ships were destroyed. Didn't bother with Darkanas as they have stupid resists and i didnt feel like refitting.

I have solo flown this mission numerous times, but truth is its alot easier with two pilots. I use my eos fitted with an afterburner and orbit the gate at max speed at about 70km.. I fit 6 t2 250s and a drone control range mod in the highs... simple tactics.. orbit gate... draw aggro.. buddy jumps in with raven or rokh, or whatever... I keep drawing aggro and buddy kills bs until I have all the frig dead.. then we mop up the remainder. Usually takes about 40 minutes. I've not farmed the mission as I'm using it lately to raise my caldari navy standing. But thats just a brief thumbnail sketch of how I run this. I can solo it in the eos.. gets tricky sometimes.. but it can be done. I usually do it in high sech though, which is alot of fun when I was last doing it in motsu a few weeks ago and a couple of salvage hunters jumped in while the mission was still running. I warped out.. they died. Simple and funny for me.
