1. Is there some range at what distance the station guns will not reach you, or a falloff distance for them?
2. What does it take to tank station guns?
3. Must this be done in low sec or does Concord allow you to do this in high sec?
4. when you do attack them, when does the negative standings generate, opening fire on on the npc destruction?
5. What negative standings do you get? To the stations corp only? Stations Faction? Security Status hit?
6. Are derived positive standings generated to for the enemies of the station's faction?

Only ships/guns from the corp that owns the convoy will shoot at you. Concord will ignore you (that's what I was told, maybe try with a noobship to check this first!). If you shoot a convoy leaving a station, you will be fired at! If you shoot a convoy arriving at a station, you may still be fired at, it depends on whether or not the two stations belong to the same corp.
Not sure about the rest.

Here's the breakdown. You're sitting next to Station A which is owned by Faction A. You notice some NPC haulers gathering that belong to Faction A and are heading away from station in the direction of Station B. If Station B is also owned by Faction A, you're probably pretty screwed if you try to shoot them. However, if Station B belongs to Faction B, then you have a chance.
You head to Station B at some distance (I forget what it is, something like 150-200km or so) in the direction of Station A. Eventually the convoy will leave Station A and shortly appear at Station B. You will be there waiting and can engage the convoy. You will have to worry about their escorts, but you won't have to worry about the sentry guns.
Oh, I should probably mention that the trade goods they drop usually aren't worth the hassle.

Let's all quit GoonSwarm and go to Empire while we still have some ISK left. |

Boost hi sec npc-combat please!
Sorry, too early in the morning for any real content from me. Needless to say, I want there to be a better reward for risking your ass to take out customs, cops, navy and haulers in hi sec.

Unless they changed recently (ie last 6 months) this isn't worth it unless you are bored. You run the risk of screwing up and getting blasted to dust by the sentry guns all for a few 100k of trade goods at best.
Generally speaking, station sentry guns will shoot if you agress within 150km of the station, but CCP claims some guns have a longer agress range. Your best bet is to setup shop at least 151km from the station in a sniping ship. Last time I did this I used a sensor boosted cruise Raven.
You can alternatively use a short range ship as long as you start the fight at least 151km away and can follow them closer. But do NOT engage any offensive module after you are closer than 150. If you run out of ammo - do NOT engage after the reload. After you have your fun killing, wait out the aggression timer before going near any station or gate.
Have a friend or alt loot the wrecks.
