I have recorded a few engagements using fraps...
I have Adobe Premiere to compile the footage... I just need a little advice on encoding options, as so far.. every thing I have tryed results in "blocky" images in some parts of the screen.
I am using DivX codec for compression.
If any of the guru movie makers can reply with their encoding suggestions/settings they use for their movies... such as drunkenmaster or Archain from SPVD .. or anyone else who knows their stuff.
Thanks in advance.

Not an expert I'm afraid, but try VirtualDub.

Josh: my framerate goes from 30 to 9.
And I think fraps just sucks at making the raw in the first place. Those people most likely use a better program. |

Virtualdub is a encoding program, go find it and try out the different types it has. ----- Eris Discordia; I think the proper term is <3

Windows Media works quite well - download 'Windows Media Encoder' from:

Fraps only works @ 1024*768 or lower so you dont really push your g/card. I dont tend to notice Fraps is running (except when I forget about it and fill my HDD!)
(recording half size, on a P4 2.53, 1Gb Ram, GFFX 5900, 7200rpm HDD, with 8mb on board cache)
