I would like to type /tell {person} message without having to open a private chat window. Maybe add tab completion that looks at the people in the channel you are telling from. /r(eply) would also be nice but it can cause mis-tells.

iirc we had that very early on in the game. Forget the command /priv or /msg or something :S [time passes... /] found it: chat commands
And no, i dont think they have been working for quite some time. Got replaced by the convo system and right click settings/context menu features. . |

I vaguely remember it being bugged as well. That is if you logged the chat you could see other peoples whispers in the log even though you didnt see them ingame.

These used to be ingame but were all but removed with the introduction of the UI interface for channel management. At the moment the only method for sending a private message to another player is to either start as separate conversation with them, or to send them an evemail.

And why is that ? Typing commands would be awesome and i don't see why to remove them... ---

The fact you are always forced to a new chat window everytime you want to talk to somebody can be a real pain when talking to several people at once plus having multiple channels up. Especially on small resolutions you soon don't knw anymore where to put all that stuff ...
I would really love an option to have all private conversations in one window where I only can type in when using a /msg /tell or whatever command. It would kinda combine all my convos in one window.

So, You suggest that I should keep 1. Local 2. Corp 3. Gang
channels opened, having space to maneuver in space, keep overview, module slots, and I should find more space for private conversation??
Are You crazy?
And no, thanks, I do not want to stack these windows. Why You think I leave NPC corporation? To shut up and play solo? -- Thanks CCP for cu<end of sig> |

A classic example of 'one step forward, two steps back'.
