Yet i still find myself having to go there every damn day to buy things, often enough it is the only system where i can find what i am looking for, and the only system that sells everything i need without having to 100 jumps to loads of diff systems.
1-5 minute lag, if you need to fit a ship don't even try, best of undocking (then just sat at black screen due to lag) relog, go to a new system and fit there. Might take about half an hour to undock, enter warp and get to the gate and jump through (if you're lucky)
I suggest a remote delivery service for systems as laggy as jita, you buy something from within a few jumps of jita and you can get it delivered automatically to you by some npc service or something, for a small fee, instant delivery and saves jita becoming a hellhole of doom.

Is traveling an extra 20 jumps worth spending an hour in Jita doing something that would normally take 5 minutes?

There is more than one regional market there, you know? Move to Rens in the Heimatar. Almost as convenient with little to no lag.

I would suggest buying enough things to last you a few weeks. Surely you know how much and what stuff you use to do this. Ships as far as I know can be bought in any mission hub and small trade hubs - resellers make sure all these places are stocked up. For other things take a hauler into Jita, buy required mods in bulk, and don't re-visit it for weeks. I've been doing it this way since I figured out where Jita is on the map and went there only to get stuck jumping in. Yeah you'll have a lot of ISK just sitting there in way of mods, but shopping every day even not in Jita is wasteful of your time. Stock up and spend time playing the game rather than shopping.
Another suggestion - set up buy orders for items that you need in Perimeter. Many people go through that system to get to Jita. They will drop rat loot and other mods to your orders if they are higher than ones in Jita, and there you will have your stuff passively dropping into your hangar. Perimeter also has a Caldari Navy station where there are typically 15+ people docked at any time with 100+ in system at most times. Lucrative buy orders there have no problem of getting filled.

I am sorry Dok Ok, but you definitely dont have my sympathy.
We all know Jita is Laggy. We all know its difficult for CCP to do anything about it. So instead of bemoaning something that cant easily be fixed: Go somewhere else! Or at least consider the lag part of the price you have to pay for having access to such a crowded market!

Newsflash = Courier mission
IK have tons of stuff delivered to my door in the matter of hours, sometimes less, right from 4/4. If you thought and planned ahead a little, maybe quit pinching the nickle long enough to realize you could make 10 more nickles in the time you took to go in the first place, you wouldn't be here on forums whining you can't...

No, i could not many ten more nickles, and the kind of modules i buy are available almost exclussively in Jita and nowhere else.

Ok, that is simply not possible. Maybe in the Forge itself they are only found in Jita. But if you mean in Eve in general, that is simply not possible. Any modules you can buy in Jita you can buy in any other empire region.

Still not possible unless we are talking some rare faction/officer modules. Any tech 1/named/tech 2 module in existence is commonly found in pretty much any empire region out there.

I used to suicide gank ore haulers in Jita back in 2003, in my cruise missile kestrel. Back when prime time there were 20 people in local.
I haven't really been there since, or felt burning need to go
