I know theres loads of these but I like mine and just have to post it. As far as pvp goes I'm about as newb as I can be, I've killed a miner or 2 while in a BS, but nothing that can fight back till last night. I was wandering Carrou in my little caracal with some t2 fittings and saw a few people on. I undock and start to scan down as best i can and see another cara so start trying to zero in on him. While planet jumping i come across a Wolf assault ship that's about as old as i am. I warp out and look in local and see he has a corp-mate in aswell. After a few min of decision I decide to try it. As im warping in I catch a Scorp on the scanner and notice its his buddies. When i warp in on him I almost leave but he gets the jump on me so the fights on. We warp scram each other and i start pouring on the missiles and he starts the atuo cannons. He's runnin circles around me and im just hopeing i can get him before my cap chargers run out and his buddy comes in.. too late. I look up on the overview to see a scorpion and resign the thought of escapeing, and turn to hopefully get the wolf. A few secconds pass and the scorp doesn't lock... then a swarm of t2 drones start nailing the frig and slows to near nothing in speed. He pops and I warp away as fast as I can, I then ask in local what happend and it turns out the guys corpmate was pertty stoned and attacked the wrong guy (ie. his corp-mate). All in all it was a good night and I logged with a new addiction forming. See ya in space
I keep removing this little thing from the admins but they keep putting it back. :( |

What a hilarious way to make your first kill... Let me give you this advice though, if you plan to get into PVP start training Gallente.

Good work, that's a really funny kill and a reminder of why everyone should clean up their overview. I do, however, want to know why you waited until you got t2 fittings to actually start playing? Keep it up

They are for solo work due to tackling being 90% of the game and caldari being slow and penalized for fitting tackle gear.

I fly Caldari, Minmatar and Gallente, all I can say is that most Caldari ships truely sucks for pvp unless given the right circumstances, gallente + Minmatar for the win imo, although I don't fly Amarr so I can't say they suck _______________________________________________

The Caracal is a fun solo pvp ship - you just have to get out of the mindless cookie cutter gank and tank setups everyone uses - and pick your targets wisely. I usually fly around in one with 5 heavies, a MWD, a warp disruptor, and 3 damps, a BCU and a nano. If you get the jump on an equal sized or larger opponent, you can run circles around them firing missiles while keeping them out of lock range (even if they catch up to you it will take them quite a while to get a lock so you're getting a huge head start in sending out damage).
Its got no ordinary tank - so you use electronics to make up for it.
If you want to take on smaller opponents, swap the heavies for assault launchers, replace one of the three damps with a web, and swap out the nano for another bcu.
Solo pvp is more than running up to an opponent and firing max dps (Gallente). Use the tactics that make the Caldari shine and you'll do fine with them.
Oh yeah - hilarious story. Playing Eve 'inebriated' can be a hilarious and expensive experience. ______________________________________________ Sup brosef! Destry's Lounge is looking for a few good drunks - contact me in game. |
