Pretty much what the title says: What kind of ships will my Lachesis take down 1v1?
I was thinking the following setup: 3 250mm rail II 2 Arbalest heavy launchers
10mn ABII Warp disr. II 3 Remote sensor damp II (unsure about the last two med slots... advice anyone?)
SAR II 2 Mag stab II (or 1 mag stab 1 dmg cont. II)
3 hammerhead II 2 Warrior II
comments anyone?

as long as you have get a target thats ratting, and does not have stabs the only hold back will be dps.
the damps will stop them getting a lock on you, if its a big target its always an idea to wait for them to engadge rats, that way you can use there dps 2 as his locking range will be too short to effectlivly take them out.
so yeah aslong as you stay at range, you should be all good.

Edited by: Freyya on 21/09/2007 11:16:52 refit MWD, 2x t2 scram, capbooster.
2x nano or 1 nano/1 istab, DCUII.
Fit rigs..CCC preferably because those SD's and scrams will suck the cap right out of you.
Your speed is your tank...no need to fit a SAR since you will be dead long before the 2nd cycle is done..more than 1 ship solo? gtfo... they getting to close because they have a mwd? punch yours and stay away or leave. Prepare to be there for a long time if you plan on taking on a bc or larger sized ship..cruisers can take a while (depends on the setup) and frigs & dessies are your best bet
+ go for 4 med t2 drones...the 1 extra light doesnt help (much)
It's still more of an advanced tackler than a solo ship but it's doable seeing as there are some succesfull with it raiding missions. for missionkillig you ofcourse fit AB.
Sidenote...just throwing it out on the fly, not 100% sure it will fit/work as intended. ________________________________________________ NOW COLLECTING ISD AND CCP AUTOGRAPHS please sign :) i want purrty colours :( It'll be worth something someday. -Rauth

Sounds fair enough, I will be using it mostly to go hunting for belt ratters and others I can catch unaware in low sec, and perhaps baiting some poor miners if I feel like it.
But my main concern is the above mentioned dps, and also the reason for asking: what size ships will my dps be able to down? Will a lachesis with good drone skills and fairly good gunnery skills pack enough to take down a drake or hurricane? Will it have any chance whatsoever against the tank of a BS? I except anything below BC save HAC`s and other recons to go easily enough...

I'd use it as a gang boat, quite possibly teamed with a Huginn and long-range DPS. Sensor damps, 2 T2 24km warp jammers.
Recon ships are a bit too specialized IMO for solo work. HACs would do better. ------------------------------ One more soldier off to war... And one Velator in my hangars. |

you can forget about a drake or any missile ship that packs some fof missiles just in case. personnaly i like my lach being capstable as damage is really low and perma running an mwd helps versus drones. then you can kill about every active tanked ship, just takes a bit. also if they're more than one you better get out. additionally i have installed an lse just for a bit higher buffer in case i have to run (recons really are fragile :\ ) oh and 2 damps are enough for one enemy unless he's flying a sniper in which case he most likely won't be able to hit you. so basically you can kill everything bar passive tankers and missile ships flown with half a brain.

Lachesis can afford to engage any target that isn't too fast (vaga) , if its tank is too strong you can easily disengage.
Magstabs are a waste since your rails will usually do less than half of your DPS. If they do more (using ECM drones) then it won't make a big difference.
Lachesis has some decent resists , you can plate it and / or add an explosive hardener depending on the situation. You can't avoid using at least 1 CPR though.
3 damps is a bit tight , it deserves to have 4 and/or a second scram. If the targets on your overview are slow enough , you can kill them all with enough patience / luck and a cap stable setup.
Lachesis is the ideal pirating ship. Works equally well for gatecamps , belt hunting and mission busting. It makes ransoming so much easier (fit a ship scanner to know the exact cost of a ransomed ship) and is uncommon enough that most victims don't even know what it does.

If you use damp rigs, 2 is plenty. This will reduce a ravens lock down to 17k~. The key on the cap is to fork out the 25m for 2 phased mouns. --------------- This sig has been censored in fear of recieving the ban hammer... |

If your flying a lach, don't expect to be able to kill anything 1v1, unless its poorly fitted.
The lach is best in a support role. Load it with damps and it can save your gangmates asses.

You can *DEFINITELY* take out pirate drakes sitting on gates. I've got killmails to prove it... wait, I was in the drake and the LACH died. FOF ftw. =/
On second thought, don't engage anything with FOF missiles. =/ Otherwise, they'll eventually run out of cap boosters and die. Good luck.
