Once your hull catches fire it should start going down automatically, when you have no hull left, your ship is incapacitated and you have to eject from it. it can then be scooped up and brought too station for repairs. |

Its not like there is a massive amount of hull tanking that goes on anyway, so its not like this would be balancing anything. And since 99% of ships that hit hull in PvP are destined to explode very soon after anyway, adding more damage on top of their crappy resists is mean.
There are plenty of fights where someone on the winning side finishes in hull, and tbh they deserve to not get further shafted if they win a close fight. It's tough enough to be stuck with damage that you can't repair/regen. If you are stuck in hull and can't get to a stations (say in 0.0) and eventually just explode, that's just... terrible.
Eve is unforgiving, but its seldom just being a jerk to people. This would absolutely just be a screwing with people. Like you can win a fight, but if you aren't within x distance of the station, then nope, you die too. Like I say, its just mean. |

Capitals could be repaired on the spot using a special ship and fitting. 
It would need a lot of development before implementation, but I dig this idea! Only special ships can scoop the ship too right? Like tow-ships? :P |
