I've been looking for some Ishtar setups on the index and most of them are very heavy on nos. Anyone have anything good that takes the nos-nerf into account? Here is what I have though it has not been tested in PVP.
H: 3x150 II, Med Nos II, Small Gremlin Neut M: named AB, med cap booster, web, 20K scram, Drone nav computer L: MAR II, EANM II, DC II, N-Type Explosive hardener, Mark-1 Cap power relay
I still have some grid left, but only 2 CPU.

We have certainly had a heck of a time killing nanno Ishtars. So how many of what do you drop from the lows? Do you fit a MWD?

generally speaking, a nano-anything without a MWD is an accident waiting to happen.

I think the cookie cutter setup is 2 x Overdrives, 2 x I-Stab and 2 x Polycarbon rig. Damage control probably in remaining low. You'll need a cap booster most likely. MwD. Warp Disruptor. Then either put together a 2 slot shield tank or fit damps. Damps are prob more effective. So far as I can tell his don't matter too much. Not much'll track at 3.5 m/s. And med nosf/neuts are limited to only just outside web range - inside overheated web.
So I'd just orbit at 15 m/s and kill 'em with drones. Think that's standard. Recommend LG Slaves though to get ship up ove 4 m/s.

You dont need a injector, thought a med/large capbattery was enough. Try to be faster than 4.5 km/s, this way missiles wont hurt you anymore. LG slaves = LG snakes, but you are right that they are very nice with nano vessels.

Silly pirates... that cargo bay is for loot, not cap charges! Besides, you'll only be able to fit 5 or 6 800s anyway.
mwd, scram, 2x damp, large cap battery 2x od, 2x inertia, cpr (or swap the cpr for another OD but watch the cap) 2x polycarbs highs = whateva Speed hardwires, nav skills, and some snakes if you can afford.
You can still fit a couple neuts, a nos & armor tank if ya want, but pfffffffft.... use a domi instead if you're doing that.
Now go forth and pwn.

Thanks for the correction. Yes, definitely Snakes. As for the the cap battery. Going off EFT, one large cap battery T2 means I cap out in 3 min 9 seconds. If you want to keep going indefinitely, you need two large cap batteries. Or a CPR would do it, too, like the above poster suggested.
None of this is taking into account nosf, because I'm assuming I'm too far out to use them. Medium Diminish Nosf range is 12,600m. Overloaded Stasis Web II gets to 13,000m.
I've never flown the ship myself, so I can't really comment any further than that.

The setup I mentioned above is cap stable for me (with Domi MWD and Phased Muons)... but I just use a T2 MWD because I'm a penny pincher. Besides, if you need some cap just turn off the damps for 20 seconds.
Only prob with NanoIshtar is if you're fighting someone who knows what they're doing (ie. they blow up the drones). You can't do the scoop/redeploy thing as easily.

Im going to give another option instead of the very popular nanno ishtar. This is a VERY good tanking ishtar that i have found to be very usefull.
H - 3 small Neut II's 2 Med deminishing
M - Warp Destruptor II - Med Cap booster II - True sansha Webbifier - Sensor boostor - Ys8 thrusters (ab)
L - 2 Energised adaptive nanno Membrane II's - 1 Active EXP hardiner II - 2 Med armour Repper II's
Rigs - Excillary Current rif (10% to pg) - Exp armour rig
Ok now let me justify this setup:
I used to use a nanno setup on an ishtar BUT its totally useless if you want to attack pray on gates in low sec which i do a lot and this tank is REALLY good at tanking sents. With modules active your looking at 90/85/82/78 and with both nos going you can perma rep if ure skills are good.Of course the cap boosters are there to keep the duel reppers going for those tough situations.
This setup is ideal for the solo low sec PVPer as you can pounce on the target orbit at 11.5km while nosing and having them webbed wile still maningtaing 600m/s. The small blasters are perfect for taking out there drones and any interceptors that decide to attack you.

As for pirating. Drones in general suck when taking gate fire. "The key to immortality is to first live a life worth remembering."

I did a similar setup only with Dark Blood items instead of tech 2... didn't tank very well tbh - as in past tense

I don't know much about these kind of setups, but does the huge sig you get from the istabs and mwd get countered enough by your speed? |

I agree, one would think so, but apparently the transversal velocity in relation to the trurret tracking far exceeds their capability of keeping up with the fast orbiting object ..

A Zealot with pulse will be able to keep up with your speed, but with damps it won't be able to target you anyway. Most other ships won't have a chance. Run from Vagas and Minni recons though. ;)
A realistic damp setup on an Ishtar would have 2x phased muons with the damp support skill at 4, and a faction warp disruptor so you can hang out a little further (thereby making the damps more effective). It's more for taking out big ships who don't go very fast.
