I have successfully used an abandon to hold down lone carriers. It can also be used for different circumstances.
You can find my original setup that I use at Nos Abaddon The comments at that site were of a previous setup.
I'm thinking of changing my setup to the following.
High: 7 x Heavy Diminishing Power System Drain I 1 x Medium Energy Neutralizer I
Medium: 1 x Heavy Capacitor Booster II 1 x Warp Disruptor II 2 x Stasis Webifier II
Lows: 3 x Large Armor Repairer II True Sansha Armor Thermic Hardener True Sansha Armor Kinetic Hardener True Sansha Armor Explosive Hardener True Sansha Armor EM Hardener
Rigs: Anti-Thermic Pump I Anti-Kinetic Pump I Anti-Explosive Pump I
Drone Bay: 5 x Acolyte II 5 x Infultrator II
Cargo Bay: 16 x Cap Booster 800
Words of Advice:
Use the drones and webs to attack fighters. Use medium Neut when you have enough cap.
Watch out for ECM ships or you will last only 3 minutes against a carrier.
I thought I would just put this idea out for people to view. Your comments are welcome.

Well, As usual the big choice is resistance rigs, ccc rigs, or the rigs that give bonus to armor rep amount and time. I know this works well for me so if someone can give me a good argument why it would be good another way, I may change it the next time I loose the ship.

If his skills are anything like mine (which are fairly high) its
85% EM 82% Therm 79% Kinetic 77.8% Explosive 76,429 effective armor hitpoints The only changes I made were a Warp Scrambler II and N-Type Hardeners for us po' men.
BTW at my skills if everything is (able to) run constantly it will infinitely run.

Don't forget guys. Carriers only have room to fit 1 set type of fighters. More than likely they will be the same fighters. If your able to figure out what type they use then you can tank against their two types of damage.
Then the resists would be in the high 80 - low 90 range.

Another note, if your stuck having to tank all resists, then fit 2 t2 eanm and 1 t2 dcu. With compensation skills lvl 4-5 you only give up 1-2 % armor resists and gain 60% hull resists. You also gain another low slot which you can use for a t2 co-processor. You might be able to replace the medium neut with another heavy nos.

You would be better off swapping the rigs out for 2 Aux nano pump's and one nanobot accelerator rig.
Especially with three reppers.
You must consider when the resists enter the upper echelon of 80's, any increase by mods will be just slight.
My last abaddon was able to tank two max skilled carriers until her cap boosts ran out. Its a pretty standard tank fit for the abaddon.
Lows: 2 x LAR II 1 x Armor Kinetic Hardener II 1 x Armor Explosive Hardener II 1 x Armor EM Hardener II 2 x EANM II
Rigs: 2 x Aux Nano Pump I 1 x Nanobot Accelerator
Everything else can remain the same. And you should tank roughly the same as the triple rep set-up. But saving the cap from the third repper

wow, your thermic resist are horrible. Like 68%. Maybe you meant a thermic hardener instead of a em. Thanks for the ideas.

This is actually almost equal to the setup I used when Kali was in testing, I tanked several capitals with it on SiSi's FFA until a Phoenix came, went to siege mode and one-volleyed me down. The 3LARII Abaddon is nasty! -
