I'm looking for the biggest minning corporation, or the best corporation to help me get a Battle Ship. I'm relatively new to the game and am not as familiar with all the huge corps as perhaps i should be, are there any out there that are good to join and will help me when i have around 1.6 mil skill points?
Thanks

u get BS's through hard work. If u join a large corp u could be waiting months for a BS. Alot of corps dont like giving new members BS's because they get lost quickly, or the person does a runner with it, and with the cost of a BS atm its alot of isk lost

eh, I don't know why you are so hyped about getting a bs anyway, they aren't vital to the fun you can have in this game, though at time thats how it seems, regardless, it wouldn't take you long to mine for one, but then what ...mine for another in your shiney new bs ____________________________

Edited by: Xraal I on 16/02/2004 16:34:41 Hello Achec.
Majin tells the truth, that most corporations do not like to give their members a BS.
We do not like to do that either.
Instead we have a completely different way to go about things. With Nocturnus Angelus, you mine for yourself. You mine with good friends, supporting you and eachother in mining operations according to your skills and equipment.
At all times we Offer to buy the resulting ores. At values far higher than market average. - No force, if you want to, you can sell your ores at 3rd party.. Though that would probably be silly as the price is worse.
We take care of everything else. If you are interested, you may join the divisions working with these projects. Fx. research, trading, NPC hunting and production.
If you sole goal is to get a BS, then I am 99% sure that, short of a corp Giving you one, we offer the best possible framework in the game to reach that goal.
We have extensive fitting guides, supply gear at very good prices, delivered to central systems, and an ambitious spirit dedicated to boosting our members wealth.

As this is not a question of fun, but a question of getting more money to be able to fight the stongest npcs with the stronger players (as well of course regualr pvp).. and once again if i may reiterate, minning with a bs is much much more time effieceient then with anything else obviously, and since minning is a bore, i rather mine quicklier and better.

But then there are those corps up in venal who give their CEOs 3 raven in a couple days even though he clearly shows he's got no right or skills needed to be at the helm of a multimillion ISK ship :P
Perhaps you should ask the various Venal corps if they have spots open, I'm sure they would be a nice training ground for EVE for anyone. ________________________________

Whats the rush? you will only get bored quicker, its like those power levellers in the other mmorpgs, they race and race to max their chars, then ***** and moan that they have **** all to do. Odd Logic. but still take your time, learn the game better, train your skills up to better prepare you for ownin a battleship, once you get one you will prolly feel more confident and want to move out into the more dangerous parts of space. And when you do, you better be able to defend yourself. You never know what kind of nasty people lurk there Sass Arcane Technologies |

1.6 million skill points is far below the number you need to be an effective battleship pilot. I'd get to know the game and play in cruisers until you know every facet of it.
Rushing into a ship you can not afford to lose is a quick and easy way to become disenchanted and bitter.
Take your time, you'll get there.

You need at least 3 mil skill points to be a remotely capable BS pilot... It took me alot of hard work and I had to learn alot of hard lessons prior to receiving my BS... The biggest corp that I know of is Everlasting Vendetta (A good corp), then TTI (I wouldn't trust em), and RONA Corp (don't know enough about them to say)... But be prepared to earn that BS several times over b4 u receive it.

Alot of opinions in the above.. Noone putting action where mouth is though, and offering you how to get a BS.
Sure, once you got a BS, is that the end? - Nope.
Won't it hurt terribly to lose it? - Sure will.. Unless..
And thats where your own brain kicks in. Because every halfwit can figure out that you should not take said BS to 0.0 before you have the gear and skills needed to survive there.
A good rule of thumb would be to mine for Another BS, staying in Empire space until you feel ready. That way, if you lose the first, you will have the next ready. Aswell you get 40% refund from the insurance by default now.
Come on guys, you talk to him like he was an imbecil and you were scared old men. And coming from me thats about as flaiming I become.
How long did it really take you to mine for your first BS? - Honestly I make 3 mio pr. 2 hours including hauling stuff to station, refining and lugging it to be sold. More if I don't mine bloody Plagioclase and Veldspar.
With the tools offered by NOAN he will be doing 1,5 mio at first, and 3 mio as soon as he's in a Thorax. Take the Armageddon @ 60 mio, thats 20 days at 2 hours work/day.
How can it be even remotely considered a game killer to lose a BS?
Regardless, I have not heard from Achec ingame, so will not disturb your scare the newguy campaign any further. - Offer is still open though Achec.

They all speak the truth. I use frigates, indies, shuttles, cruisers, and BS's. They each have their role and each are fun in their own way.
FIrst determine what type of role or player u want to be(builder, trader, miner, hunter, pvper, refiner, hauler, etc) then talk to peeps to get an idea of what skills ships mods are needed and work for those.
BS's cost 60-120M and insurance is many millions and weapons and mods can cost upwards of 100M and if you dont have the right skills you can lose them all within minutes. I've seen it happen many, many times. So take you time and enjoy the process. Like the above posters, I actually use my Vexor to mine, and Caracal to fight more then I use my (3) battleships anymore.

Another thing that can help "increase" the life of your battleship is to not join a corp in the "wrong" alliance .

CA is not more pirates then any other Alliance, we kill who trespasses into our region - unlike Stain who clearly dont kill anything passing into their territory .

Hmm, i could tell you that's not right. But it's a good aim anyway.
correctly stated it should say that unless you dedicate yourself to a weapontype and ship from the beginning, 3 million sp's are indeed required.
Now if you choose to be an effective Laser firing Apoccalypse fighter, you could actually do it with 2 million. But it would mean no or little drone skills, no missile skills and nearly no EW skills. But the again, it could still mean you could beat 6 million skillpoint pilots as long as you do what you are trained to do...
oh, and EV, RONA and TTI are not by far the largest around. (well tti isnt and EV has little active membership it seems from their member comments).
You want a BS ? And you want to make isk fast ? Join a nice corp that will give you a thorax (most of them do if they are nice ppl), and mine for them. After some time your turn to get the BS will come up and you'll have one.
In the mean time you'll have them 2 mio skillpoints
