Edited by: Gaven Blands on 23/09/2007 17:19:21 Instead of not posting lossmails, simply modify Navy Megathrons to be the same isk value as regular megathrons. This will get your Merc Corp's efficiency in the latest contract up from a terrible 6% to a nearly laughable 20%
And don't post pod lossmails either.
And I don't know or care if I allowed to post such things. http://www.sicarri.net/ZelotKB/?a=cc_detail&ctr_id=13 As a Link, since the sticky didn't forbid it. If you say Proof or STFU, I have a screenie of what it looked like before they jiggered with it, plus you're a muppet for not looking and seeing for yourself.
But they are a Merc Corp. The final acceptable bastion of the Role Playing community. They need only say "We were paid by our employer to do this crappy thing" and suddenly everbody gets onboard the love train.
What a shocker I am in the wrong again. I don't care. I quit smoking yesterday and I'd be happy to do those things you're not allowed to mention.
Flame On.
Edit: I'm not saying they're bad mercs. Or bad at PvP or whatever. Frankly withdrawal symptoms are making my judgement suck. I'm just saying they're only cheating themselves.

You are seeing wrong where there is none to be seen. They just got a source of cheap Navy Mega that they won't share.
But yes posting my pods and not theirs is not nice. -- Heat, easy to burn your mods by mistake, hard to get it to work when you need it the most. Well designed interface CCP! |

Are you sure? When I installed eve-dev the stock navy mega was the same as the t1.
Instead of editing it down.. maybe they just have edited it up yet?

Edited by: Gaven Blands on 23/09/2007 18:07:08 I did this in a hurry. Sorry for crappy jpg artifacting. A hark back to when I had to produce 100k jpg's for QXL.
But you can clearly see the old and realistic price for the BS kill which was a navy mega.
Why did I capture this screen you ask? Because the guy who lost the mega left the corp and we were convinced sicarri were going to remove his influence from their kb as a result. We told them we would be watching. They ignored us.
So, here you go. http://dl.eve-files.com/media/0709/Sicarri.jpg Picture

CPU is pretty farking bad to be honest. It's still easy to properly fit, especially if you have the bank-roll. ;)
Back on topic though, I was checking out the killboard and as I got to the Navy Mega loss, the whole killboard went poof. The whole KB is a 404 error now. ;)

The killboard encountered problems, it was reset and came back with all ships and modules using base meterial costs as it's value assessment. It has since been taken down whilst the issue is resolved and the values set to use market values as it had previously. If you'd taken the time to look you would have noticed that it wasn't simply the Navy Mega that had changed but all ships had been adjusted to use material cost as it's value. Unfortunately the timing was hurendous for us, we are all too aware of how it looks for us but unfortunately there is sod all we can do about that now, the damage has been done.
The killboard will be backup and with more sensible values, we certainly wouldn't want a navy mega kill to be showing a mere material base value and we wouldn't expect you or anyone else to be happy with that either.
I am sorry you felt the need to post a thread with regard to this instead of contacting us first and getting the issue resolved but i understand how it looks and your frustration. Hopefully when the KB is back online this will be the end of the topic.
Cheers.

Update, the guy who flew the Navy Mega who quit the corp straight after, rejoined a day later. Presumably after a succesful trip to ebay and to pick up his new ship in nice safety.
Frankly my thoughts of Sicarri having any integrity diminshes rapidly, and the kb being a mistake I no longer choose to believe.
I know I should petition COMINHARD for it, but frankly, GM responses to such things is too erratic to be bothered with.
Whatever Sicarri. Flame away.

honestly gaven
i have quite a few ways of measuring our success as a merc corporation
yes the killboards are one of them, and i feel for our badly fitted navy mega guy, he left the corp straight afterwards through embarrassment, and i had to talk him into rejoining and assured him that the yapping of dogs on the forum meant nothing to me.
i find one of the best methods of measuring this kind of conflict, where a mining and production corporation has hired us because they are finding a wardec hard to deal with, is the amount of smacktalk on the forums.
to me the more you get stuck in a station not daring to undock in anything other than a shuttle, or sit at a safespot in a cloaked ship, then the more you have time to smack on the forums.
its boring but it gets the job done and im quite prepared to restrict your playtime in this way regardless of losses.
our employer doesnt care how many ships we lose, as long as he isnt losing ships, we dont charge him for our losses.
so smack away you leet station pilot you. it only proves that i and my boys are doing our job.
id like to say see you in space but i doubt that will be the case.

You are Role Players. Honest is beyond your remit. You can just say "We were paid to say 'honest' or indeed anything else" therefore a mercs words are often to be held as meaningless. But do carry on.

Somebody hasn't been keeping up on the Modro kills. You're not wasting much of our time at all, it takes us maybe 45 minutes to coax your blob to where we need it to be, aufay for instance, then we get back to work.

mmm, we know, and no, kworld doesn't even care about his owm members losing ships either. Which is handy because they've lost over 200 so far. He didn't like it when Dark Taboo didn't care about him losing ships though.
He's a user, and the more of his newbies we educate & liberate from the likes of him and Darth Maule who think that pledging allegiance every morning to an inept leadership spells success the better. Luckily not all of his inner circle are as thick as the King & Queen.

You call it smack, because you don't like to know how ineffective you are.

I see you all the time. You see me when I want you to see me. It's your job to deal with us, not us with you. Do get over it.

this is turning into a flame board - I don't wanna have a go at the poster - but it was a genuine leave from embaressment and SC wanted the pilot back as we ALL go through the learning curve in pvp, every pvp pilot knows its about taking your losses and learning from it and moving on - so we got him back - no petition is needed or justified. The rest of this garbage is just spam - like very warring corp - we will track down every online member - and if he chooses to undock or not we have to follow the lead... the rest of the corp weren't having a rare old time aggro'ing our employer during this time - so it wasn't a stunning tactic! We accept our (financial/efficiency) loss - the boards are spot on for acurracy - no more flame/smack required... if the target undocks, we will engage - nuff said!
