Scanned some belts in low sec and wasnt having much luck. I was in my rapier so i remained cloaked and patient.
A thrasher warped to the belt where i was lying in wait so i killed him straight away. His loot was purely ratting loot he did have ac's fitted, and he refused a small ransom of 1mill.

Victim: A***** K***** Alliance: NONE Corp: Trans-Aerospace Industries Destroyed: Thrasher System: Hagilur Security: 0.4
Involved parties:
Name: Maximada (laid the final blow) Security: -10.0 Alliance: NONE Corp: Brutor tribe Ship: Rapier Weapon: Hammerhead I
Destroyed items:
Standard Missile Launcher I Light Electron Blaster I Proton S, Qty: 151 (Cargo) Phased Plasma S, Qty: 150 (Cargo) Titanium Sabot S, Qty: 105 (Cargo) EMP S, Qty: 112 (Cargo) Expanded Cargohold I Uranium Charge S, Qty: 197 (Cargo) Exterminator F.O.F. Light Missile I, Qty: 100 (Cargo) Miner I Survey Scanner I 100mm Reinforced Titanium Plates I Luminous Kernite, Qty: 252 (Cargo) EMP S, Qty: 100 Nuclear S, Qty: 142
The second he died a drake, a thorax and a muninn jumped in. I cloaked and then thought what the hell. I uncloaked and put a web and a damp on the thorax and a damp on the muninn. I put my scram and remaining 2 damps on the drake. I engaged the drake knowing i wouldnt have enough dps but i wanted to see if he would accept a ransom. He didnt.
During this time i was switching my web between the muninn and thorax keeping them at bay and it was working i had all three ships locked down.
The muninn warped away and so did the thorax. I engaged the drake to try and sway his descision on the ransom. He again refused.
The muninn and thorax kept coming back in and attempting to get close but extreme web and damp micro management were the order of the day.
The drake dropped to 1/3rd shield, he was poorly fitted but my reloading was prolonging the fight. I also had to micromanage my drones because they were getting chewed up by some f.o.f's from the drakes and some belt rats.
I couldnt break the drake he was stable at about 1/3rd shield. When i pulled in my drones i was praying the 3 cruiser rats would engage the drake. They did and it tipped the ballance he went into armor and he was done for.
The muninn and thorax were still warping in and out. trying diff ranges etc but never really got close enough. The drake pilot asked now if he could pay a ransome, i politely told him he had missed the chance. Anyway this fight was intense. Note the time it took me to kill him from the thrashers killmail.

Involved parties:
Name: Maximada (laid the final blow) Security: -10.0 Alliance: NONE Corp: Brutor tribe Ship: Rapier Weapon: 650mm Artillery Cannon II
Name: Angel Shatterer / Archangels

Right he was dead, i only had the one scram and switched it to the thorax, the muninn at this point warped out and didnt come back. I offered ransom and he refused. The rest as we say is history.

8> going up against the odds, especially when they're noobs flying big ships .
Though, I always find the, not-so-noob players flying big ships, (yes, we need an ishtar, crow, drake, and nighthawk to kill this lone pilgrim)

And I'd just like to mention that the character whose killmail that is is named Avatar and he was actually mining. Congrats on a mining thrasher kill. o7
Nice other kills though.
Why didn't you attack our Rupture/Stabber duo of death?

Heh, no need, I could make you a flow chart:
1. Rupture + Stabber land in Rapiers belt. All lock.
-Does rapier lock, web, and dampen both? --no: we land on top and you die. (not bloody likely)
if yes,
2. Do my ECM drones break your lock? --no: we die.
if yes,
3. Do we warp off? --no: maybe if our mice break.
if yes,
4. Do we cry to our mothers about minnie recons?

why not save the hassle and go directly to step 4 no matter what the outcome, one side will end up crying about recons

Why didn't he just sit at 120 away and pick you apart with 720's? with a couple of sensor booster II's he should have gotten a few salvos in through your EW at least.

imo you cant beat low sec solo stuff, its all about you at the end of the day. If you get spanked its not because of lag or your gangmates didnt gel at the right time.
Anyone can jump in a cruiser and do some low sec solo piracy. Every fight is different and thats why i love it so much. And tbh i cant see myself ever wanting to do large scale fleet stuff in 0.0 again.
I just think that in a fleet op if two large hostile fleets meet and your called primary, your skill and cunning mean jack. But thats just my oppinion
Low-sec solo is the way ahead for me. No chance ill ever do fleet stuff again.
