As there are some modules modified or revamped they might be needing a new database, at least for equipment, but I don't think it's the same DB as characters.
And no, still no news about a new mirror :/

Afaik it's just a version change. And if I'm not wrong, in order to do a mirror, TQ has to go in an extended downtime.

Originally by: CCP Oneiromancer I have some more news about the mirror: the person in Operations who is in charge of moving the database copy over to the Singularity network is on vacation and won't be back until next Monday. So the mirror will not be this week, unfortunately.
RABBLE RABBLE ! :p
Well maybe someone who's not in vacations could easily take over this transferring duty, couldn't it ? I mean, doesn't seem very hard or very long either to me :)

Seriously, tho - is it THAT hard to mirror the server? And what's with the conflicting info from the devs? One guy is responsible but he's on vacation, or "everyone" else is busy and preoccupied... which is it?
It's both, the guy in charge of mirrors is on vacation, and everyone else is busy with other things.
Afaik the guy in charge came back today. With some luck we might have it by tomorrow or thursday.

Actually the guy was meant to be back on Monday, so really we should have a new mirror by now according to the mirror time estimates given by CCP.
1¦) There's nowhere I can find they've promised it'll appear this week. 2¦) Monday was a work-free day in Iceland.

Could some people stop fracking moralizing others ? We all know the purposes of doing a mirror or not.
Maybe you could open your eyes and try to see farther than your nose and understand that if people ask for a new mirror, there are some reasons for it.
@Innoculii : I don't think he drove home on Tuesday morning and instantly landed on his chair at CCP... People who leave on vacations usually come back home 2-3 days before the vacations end to take their working pace of life back.

I recently traded my character on TQ. As a matter of fact I don't have my new TQ char on Sisi I still have my old one.
So I can't test fittings I could use on TQ, as the new char is Amarr and the old one Gallente. And I'd rather test out fittings where there's no risk of losing too much ISK than trying on TQ and lose it all.
No, it has nothing to do with bug reporting or such ( which is still to be proven as I might find a bug doing so ). Yes, it's still one of Sisi's purposes to allow players to find and try out setups corresponding to that player's gameplay. ( That'ts what FFA and BF are for )

Originally by: Vaelastra then plz dont promise that a mirror will be done in the last week ...
Where did he promised anything ? He only said "they'll TRY" to get one last week.
And that's actually partially right, as afaik the database copy is done already. The only need now is that Deployment Dept (iirc) edits the copy as Oneiro said and puts it on Sisi.
So if you wanna rabble against someone, do it against Deployment :p

You clearly didn't read what Oneiromancer posted earlier in the thread, that's why you don't have the tiniest clue of what you're talking about...
As Oneiro said, mirror != skills. They need a COMPLETE Tranquility database copy to get a stable base to work on.
Afaik :
- Operations Dept do the backup and copy it onto Singularity network. - Deployment Dept prune that copy to edit a lot of things Oneiro also mentionned ( ETC accounts changes so they don't expire, wipe out all POS warfare, seed the market with all those oh-so-loved 100 isk items, eventually implement previous mirror's capital ship building queues so the work done from it doesn't get lost, etc, etc ).
TQ and Sisi aren't on the same computer, which would have been EVE Offline since Day 1. They're not even on the same network.
So for once find informations when you're trying to troll/flame to make it at least decent, and not that kind of clueless bullsh*t.

make a single mirror maxing every1's skill it only needs to be done once every year to accomidate new players.. thanks..
this also gives people the option to test EVERYTHING not just what they have trained for thus making it a more viable way to actualy test things.
CCP need feedback from things tested with different skillsets. If every feedback report they'd get was from ALL Level V skilled pilots it'd be pretty useless.

Do you guys realize we're on Summer vacations ?

Originally by: Bronson Hughes Well, stop talking about yourself as if you're a CCP staffer (i.e. 'we're on Summer vacation' when talking about CCP not getting the mirror done) and I'll consider it. If you're not a CCP staffer's alt, you're at least from Iceland and refering to the fact that most Icelanders are on summer vacation.
We, "guys", the community, my country, the WHOLE FRACKING CIVILIZED WORLD is on Summer Vacations for Christ's sake are you just stupid or are you trying to flame on purpose ?
And if I was a Dev's alt, I'll probably get your account banned some days for ****ing a Dev's alt off.

So how is it even remotely an issue that you are on summer vacation?
The guy in charge of the copy is part of Operations Department, while the editing work is done by Deployment. Maybe some Deployment people are on vacations ?
Are we going to debate that argument for 2 pages to prove me I'm wrong ?

Quote: The multiple problems with windows resizing or moving around were partially fixed and the issue is still under testing.
There will also be a new mirror today, if the server starts up ok and there are no problems with the new database.
Don't worry... be happy *whistles* \o/
