Just wondering why you guys attacked us. I mean, I love a good war and all but I thought that since Sylic left we might even rejoin our alliances, not go to war.
Can anyone tell me what your reasons were? And also... what was the plan, seems like an uphill struggle unless you were expecting some help from an ally or something?

First they leave Rule pretending they are better than us and take a station that EMD gave them while they were in Rule then they attack us while we are in a leadership transistion. It is sad that people are so messed up that they resort to such lows. They are quickly getting what they deserve though :)

ahhhhhhhh so thats why 117 of us are now down in the drone regions shooting AoD....i was wondering about that.....our Fc never tells us anything, its allways kill these 30 bs this and zerg that carrier first that...  it seems Rule of Three leaders are the same.

...If you set a route from Tribute to Rule of Three sov systems it goes through Venal(unless you're taking some weird out of the way route). Vae Victis lives in Venal. I believe that it's pretty easy to go from there.
Hint: That means the fighting is taking place in Venal other than occasional roaming gangs into Rule space.

Torm's got the gist of it there. We generally try to keep our little spat with RULE from spilling over to RZR or RAWR space - respect for the local blue lists and all that - but during that brief Venal interlude between Tribute & Tenal, we have no such compunctions.

Everyone who post here so far seem to missed the point
Rule vs AOD has always been about who has the biggest Epeen and who can get their Ally to come shoot the other. Being that they had the same allies is quite interesting.
History time
Sylic and EMD alway believed that they were better than the other corps. As CEO of one of the Corp I was told by one of his directors that if I don't like how they do things to take my guys and leave. All this after my corp taught them how to establish and run a multi-billion POS industry.
Sylic and EMD, (notice it was not rule of Three) because they always say it was rule of EMD, was committing the allaince to war without asking the other ceo.
The split came and the constellation was divide equally. Each side now begin posturing so that their allies (Trimuvirate was an enemy of Both Alliance) would come help.Reason for the posturing? Which ever side the allies chooses the other loses
This was a perfect chance for AOD and RO3 to work together but pride and whatever else killed it.
In my opinion, we don't need that space, It was a pointless land grab, with the way constellation are we needed to concentrate on our sover, before moving on.
Rule of three after all the agrression and bull**** had to pay Trimuvate (Rumor has it that it was with RL means). I don't blame them or really care. We should not have been there. After sylic bent them over and remove their coverage so that xxxdeath-legion, pure or Smash , which ever the rumor has current can come and help him take the station, we should ahve help them defend because in reality I thought we were suppose to be better than they were and that why we left.
I was getting ready to create economic transaction that would better both allainces.
Some will post here flaming me, The best they can say that is true is I that i don't pvp much and I am not much of a Forum person as you can tell by the fact I don't know how to add my affliation. What I do is use what eve give to create multi-billion industries

Shorter story: Not sure of the gist of it from what I hear is that sylic started offling a bunch of the pos before he left emd. Not sure if they were his to begin with or not still quite new to rule. AoD saw it and came in and took advantage of the situation from what I hear.

Well being pretty new to the alliance all the history don't mean a thing to me. All i know is one day AoD is blue and the next they are attacking us. I really do think the early gains by AoD were due more to the surprise factor than anything else. So far it's been fun and our guys are loving it.

if you say this intel in incorrect, then why is Tri helping out RO3? I have not seen a single post as to the main reason that TRI would come to gang with RO3 with such numbers right off the bat. There has been no other "rumors" as to why TRI (an enemy of RO3 till now) has joined the fight with RO3. Also, RO3, you were getting you !@# handed to untill you real money payoff (not suggesting it is a rumor) to TRI. You did not push us back to MK. TRI with a small about of RO3 pushed us back.
P.S. you have to admire how great TRI executes there ops.

TRI prob wont know about where the isk comes from and they would be stupid not to take it if it isk isofferd forjob as long its good isk .
If and a big IF teh isk was bought with RL money the only person to be looked down at and banned is the one buying it , simple as .

The point is being elided here. There is pretty solid word on the street (someone's db is not as secure as they thought) that is was a good old check for good old American $$ direct from one RL member of EMD to a RL leader of Tri.
Whatever your view of AoD's aggression on RoT (and I take it somewhat dimly), if this direct money thing has legs, it's a new low for Eve and all digital gaming. Makes "post with your main!" seem beyond trivial, (it shouldn't be) don't you think?

To be honest I think it's way too late for that. A few times it's come almost to the brink of all out war and it's been brought back, I've shouted at both sides.
As far as I understand you guys left almost completely because of Sylic.
It's just sad to see AoD using Sylic leaving AoD and his corp thefts and sabotage as a launchpad to attack RULE. And it's just and right that AoD are not going to succeed.
I do not know how much say Razakon and Clorthos had in this. I'd be happier if I thought they weren't the ones pushing for the backstab attack.
I hope the end result is that AoD are gone, RULE control both constellations in question, and RULE can get on with stuff drama free. RULE has been beset with drama since it's creation, it's constantly hampered things.

LOL yep all my fault.
FYI i took 1 small tower In low sec that i used to jump thru.
000000000 big thief me.Yes after real life threats i removed all roles of directors till i got my stuff out.
Now funny thing was while i was stripping roles i missed an alt and they figured this out so after 30 minutes of stripping back and forth cause they logged on all thier alts and kept giving each other roles. Was funny in the end someone added the starbase config to every title in the corp which gave everyone that role.
so i left it.
Well several other disgruntled members figured this out and several are still in EMD. So let them learn the hard way.
In no way was it my intent but is what happens so i will sit here and laugh.
Oh what they are forgetting to tell you is they lost several more towers including a Domination tower AFTER i stripped my characters and already had them going into the new corp.
Funny thing is i talked to 2 other alliance leaders since i have left and no one else except those coming with me.
Yarrr Leader of conspiracies right now even when i dont log on for 3 day.

But in all seriousness, I had a tragedy like this happen to the guild that I was in in dark age of camelot.
We had two GMs that were irl friends. They got into a fight and tore the guild in two.
Thank god they weren't allowed to declare war in that game. Both splinter guilds died due to drama. (people just leaving the guild or just not logging back in)
If the problem in this heartache is all caused by alliance leaders, then its really sad for you guys. I'd recommend you talk some sense into your leaders and work it out. I wouldn't look to Tri to give a damn about it, they're all about the ship violence.

Some first payment was smaller or some crap and the rest was going to be in isk in-game after he sold the remainign cash in GTC, couldn't sell GTC fast enough after the war started to get the isk so leadership in Tri accepted a check and once it cleared they moved the alliance in.
Anyhoooo. It's moot. Local chats all over the warfront have a ton of Ro3 responding optimistically to using $$$ buying GTC's buying isk to pay Tri the money. This is all publicly all over Local chat and some forums. If anyone publciyl states the exact isk paid you can calculate the real life cash this Necroman guy spent to save Ro3 and buy some more 0.0 space alongside the 0.0 space he already bought with his cash. If you're an extended pessimist, add a thousand or two more to that and chalk it up as the down payment paid directly to some leaders of Tri that they pocketed probably.
All in all, being well off enough to retire by 40 myself.. I about came close to hiring MC with GTC bought cash. Convoed an MC buddy, got no response yet... but that is when Ro3 spies heard me say that on TS and immediately proposed a surrender offer with a VERY short deadline in the hours, as I recall, so I never got to pay MC and waste a few thousand dollars of my own.
All in all, a good thing. I'd feel all dirty if I did that, even if it's in response to counter someone elses cash. You know why? The more cash spent like that.. the only winner's of the war are the macro miners/ratters.

A: It was stated that the fact of real life cash transfer was moot due to the fact Ro3 already claims to have bought all the isk paid to Triumverate with GTC's via cash. Wether the fact of a down payment is correct outside the game or if it was this Necroman who did the same thing to buy the outposts is irrellevent. It's just a matter to quantify the dollar amount by quantifying the isk payment to Triumverate. Bare minumum is about 500$, most likely average is about 1000$-1500$, top end is 5000$. Regardless, it's already been stated they paid the isk via GTC's raised after the war started and it went badly.
B: Last I heard, the war was started as part of an agreement between the two alliance for PoS coverage. The agreement was violated, multiple entities commented on taking Ro3 space, a clause of the agreement was enacted and then claimed to be an unwarranted invasion despite a pre-existing agreement. As is usuall with internet people, all things will be denied as fabrication, all logs with be called forgeries, and all facts will be superceded by the whims of the moment.
C: Last I heard, Tri attacked Ro3 after their contract expired. Wether it is Tri, or any from a list of other people already stating they are going to take Ro3 space.. Ro3 space is just being prepped for an assault. If anything, we fell for bait due to some (hats off to whomever it REALLY was, TBH. Good play) other political machinations. It's a classic Sun-Tzu/Art of War concept for efficient warfare.
Regardless. It doesn't take many brains to figure it all out. I am mostly upset by the fact some guy spent a lot of $$$ to affect the game overnight, and that macro miners/ratters just got a whole lot of $$$ overnight. Otherwise, hats of to the machiavellian behind the real maneuvering at hand here.

Lacking the overt need to get verbose in the original post, the concept was just being debated as a response to the initial use of it, but was decided not to be done for the obvious reasons. Therefore, the fact it crossed ones mind as a response to discovering another used said means initially is nothing more than a moment of inactive weakness in contemplation.
B: Another case of taking something out of context, the debates you refer to of how I was going to "meta game" to buy isk were what? Oh yea. "Damn. I spent isk on buying GTC for a year on 3 accounts as I was getting divorced. I'd like that isk back. I've been debating spending the correct amount of $$ to get that amount of isk back". Try to learn a new trick there, ponyboy. Out of context arguments only work to make the person utilizing them feel better.
C: Please note my only posts have been in reply on three occassions to what other people said, rectifying the incorrect facts utilized and inserting future logical flow of said facts :
- Gort : I clarified the details of the rumour he spoke of.
- Some Ro3 guy : Clarified the details in the first post that they either ommitted, took out of context, or blindly could not seem to follow the logic of.
- You : Which is this one. Pointing out your arguements are baseless and omitting certain key statements in text and voice that were made at the time of your source material. (Ie, the post is above and unedited. Your comments ommitting the details of my own "meta-gaming")
Pardon the verbosity, but as is apparent if I do not be then the effects of other people's BAC becomes apparrent. I vote we all smoke pot and avoid killing braincells.

now in my three yrs of playing this game i have seen a lot of garbage been flung around this forums, hell ive even thrown some myself..but on the whole its always been aimed at the ig character keeping the rl out of it (ignoring the usual sore looser chants of "hes a nerd in the basment whos stupid")ive just come of a 4 month break and in my first 2 weeks ive seen something that has sickened me, a single comment....but a new low for eve, and made worse that it was done by a member of a group i have known since starting...and has not been addressed by them yet.....

a small commment, but to bring in a RL issue of this nature as a insult and argument point over a disagreement on a internet forum about in character conduct in a game is below bottom feeder level...

A: Im not an alcoholic. Ive never been an alcoholic and I really have absolutly no idea why Paula slung that. Desperate cheap shot and char smear ftw I guess.
B: If I hypothetically ever was an addict of any description Paula would be the last person I would be telling about it. He was in katet for all of about 1 month and the whole time was marked with whining, biatching etc as displayed here.

Cry about it all you want Dante's. On multiple occassions on forums and TS, including his initial reply, he makes personal attacks at me constantly. Get more informed before crying about it and don't jump in after 4 months gone acting aware of current events.
Paddy Paddy leaked his RL problems into the game by making personal assaults at others constantly, verbally and in forums, and ran off multiple people from the corp. If one does not wish to involve their RL problems within a game, they should not blatantly bring it into the game every time they login. I for one had enough after his dozenth .5 BAC screamfest on TS and personal attacks at people during them.
I don't care if I assume that someone who is inebriated 95% of the time is in fact inebriated or not when I hear what they say when they say things that they say when they are in fact inebriated normally anyhow.

I went afk right before the war thing and when i came back we were fully engaged no tri yet i only ever saw you in a vaga leandra nor did i see any off your obvious alts but im sure you were right there in the thick off it dying beside your friends on other chars... right?
hehe and i know it feels better too think you got owned in the end by tri but in all honesty you were owned from the start only southern cross fleets i ever saw and that would never cut it tri just speed it up for us :)
