I'm considering over the next few months taking a jump clone into 0.0 space to mission with Mordus Legion Command for faction standing (Mordus has a lot of friends) and I see numerous problems.
The obvious one is that all of the mission agents are in 0.0, 6 jumps away from empire space and there are at least two different corp sovereignties along that path. So just taking in a gallentean battleship (my prefered ship) is going to be a big problem. So I was thinking of flying in with a lesser ship (like a covert ops, shuttle, or a fast warping tech 1 frig) and buying or making battlecruisers and using those in the missions.
Second, since all the agents are in one station, it sounds like an ideal location for pirates to permanently siege. How bad is the pirating in this area? Maybe one would have to dock their ships elsewhere and dash in with a shuttle? If you have no implants, getting podded as you undock might be a quick and not too expensive way to return to your ships (assuming you changed your HQ to where your ships are).
Pirates breaking into kill missions will be a problem. Is the problem worse for the Mordus than other 0.0 locations? Maybe it'd be more worthwhile to do a lot of fast level 3 missions than slower level 4 missions because of this?

0.0 missioning really isn't too bad. Most of the mission hubs are populated by people doing missions. You will occasionally get the random gang of ****s, but for the most part, there's just no money in ganking mission runners.
Take Venal for example. Lots and lots of Guristas stations and lots of mission running. But it's reasonably calm up there.
Picking a low pop time of night/day to do your missioning helps too.
It being 0.0, don't ever think of it as "Am I going to get ganked." Think of it as, "when I do get ganked, can I afford to refit a new ship and get right back to it tomorrow.
PvP happens. Just how it is. Either you can live with it, or you can't. If all else fails, keep your ship scanner open and watch your overview. Keep a halfway point to a nearby planet bookmarked, jump to warp and ctrl-q. It not only annoys people, but it keeps you in the black. :)

Thanks for the advice. I'm not ready to make the jump yet, but this is good to know.

you should have good ties with the local allience, else you will get poded often. generally only ppl with a positive standing towards the locals are tolerated (also reffered to as blue), neutrals are generally target practice if encountered but are not being chased, while those with a negative standing (reds), well... they normally come in gangs to pvp so..
best would be to contact the respective diplomat(s) of that allience. -- Tempus fugit -- quote spiralJunkie: it doesn't matter how you pronounce it, it still shoots you in the face |
