from a militaristic point of view, would the amarr harbinger be better over a Gallente Myrmidon? I'm amarr btw, just wondering

Id take a gun ship over a drone boat in fast moving gangs tho... because waiting on some dumbasses drones is dumb, and leaving any heavies behind on a Myrm instantly gimps its dps.

After the NOS change a myrm is a lot less dangerous to a Harb.
Still a nasty fight because a Harb will have a hard time breaking a Myrm's tank but the Myrm shouldn't be able to NOS a Harb to death like it could before.

If they fought 1v1, the Myrmidon would tear the Harbinger to shreds.
In a small-ish gang, the Myrmidon is better, for a medium-ish close-range gang a Harbinger is better, and then for a large-ish gang the Myrmidon (now with Sentries) comes out on top again. For soloing the Myrmidon is better.

Beam Harb is far superior to a Myrm in med/large gangs. Better than the Brutix by a large margin as well.

Depends on what you call a large gang, I suppose.
Myrm with Sentries can up to 100+km range with 340ish DPS, or it can get 50ish km range with 500 DPS and a tank. The thing does well in almost any role you put it in, and I know I'd certainly take a Sentrys+Rails Myrm over a Beam Harbinger/Rail Brutix into anything but a fast/light gang, where I wouldn't have brought a BC anyway.

The problem with sentries is, they are usually deployed a bit out of scoop range, and in sniper runs, you need to be able to warp out when you start getting hit for serious damage, and come back for another run. In a gun ship, this is posssible, in a drone ship, you either lose your drones on warp, or lose the ship when getting the drones back...

Harbinger hands down is the best ship, its fricken awesome fit for gank fries anything, havent met many pilots that can stand up to the dmg this thing spews out, maybe a lame tactic but it works.
plates rep summit like that medium ECM dromes works a treat :) mym tanks but it cant tank this i promise u, altho with rigs its closer usually depends on pilot skill's.
Besides drones have travel time all that crap, guns have the ability to strike straight away, so by the time ur drones get there and back etc the harby prolly alrdy got off 2 or 3 volleys :)
