ok so i purchased an album off the internet and i want to burn it to an mp3 cd to listen in my car.
i put the blank cd in my drive open up windows media player and create a burn list.
now when i hit burn it starts to burn a song and about 1/2 way through the first song it tells me an error has occurred please make sure that the disk is not dirty or damaged or select a slower writing speed and the disk becomes useless as the drive thinks it has data and its not an rw 
help please before i destroy my computer

Usually when that happens (in my experience) the disc is screwed. Basically you need a new disc dude.
Also try a different program like nero or such, easy to use etc.

Turn down your write speed and go back to WMP. It's finicky sometimes.

think maby an 8X write speed would do it? (not at home so cant test)
