I watched my first episode of Eve TV. It was free so why not. It was not bad at all. And it was free.
Free Eve TV is pretty rad. I like it.
But if it goes back to having to pay for it, i wont watch it.

I just watched it for the first time too. I liked it, but couldn't imagine paying for it - above the normal game fees....

Thorax ftw (they forgot to mention that besides from being pvp *****ble against big targets you can fit medium blasters and fit it for anti-frigate)

i am wondering how you are paying for it now... i assumed free to watch would mean you would need to show adverts but i didnt see any...

Man free the tv
But really good show past the time waiting for a cyno and that singing at the end was great. Mite have to turn it in to a flash video for my next u tube moment. Keep up the good work and well done on the pvp tournament. Ps. my whole corp think free eve tv is the only way forward.

I though the Eve TV was great.
Although I wouldn't pay for the service, as a free service it would be fantastic. As a new player it really helps in seeing whats going on and I can see how the information in the episodes could help all players.
In short I think its good for the Eve community and hope that they can release it as a free service.

I watched the tournament while it was live and I really did enjoy it, I liked the back round settings that was used during the tournament, the white couches and the back drops, and that sort of interaction between quest and the commentators. Was by far more appealing than the behind the desk news reporter feel,.
I enjoyed eve TV but I would not be inclined to pay for it, I think it would add incredibly to the EVE world as a free service as would any one who wants something good for free.
And I wouldnĘt mind the commercials, like the ones used during the tournament, but I would Definitely prefer the in the warm living room setting, the behind the scenes used, like I loved the singing at the end
Over all I enjoyed it.

If funding a free Eve-TV is difficult, then try adverts.

I thought it was excellent but I only tried it because it was free (yes, I'm cheap). If it is kept free I'll be an avid viewer.

I've been watching EVE TV since the start and i was quite happy paying the small amount for each episode. It's been great to watch every week and amusing to watch Spiral and Stevie change from startled manikins into real people. Now it's free it's even better.
Just one question, if me and the other viewers are not paying for it, who is?

I would not put it on U tube then people will not watch it on the EVE TV website and will not be getting ads and the EVE TV team will not get any money for their good work and there for it would stop.
But maybe i'm not understanding what your saying. so whatever, and also do what you want, I'm just pointing something out.
Also who knows maybe it will look bad on U tube and they will come to the EVE - TV website to watch the rest.
And so if you do, then just make sure to point people to the actual website. ***

Thanks for finally making it free. I love the game EVE and have tried to get many of my firends and work collegues to join up. I must admit that being able to show them EVE TV as a freebie to highlight the maturity and depth of the game has made many of the sign up to see what the racket is about. I think it really needs to be advertised as it will pay for itself in new subscriptions.
Keep up the good work and keep it free

I must say I am not quite happy with this new free player, for a number of reasons:
1. You cannot watch on full screen, so I have to glue my nose to the monitor to see what's going on. 2. The image quality is somewhat lower than the Jalipo 1000K offering (sure low quality makes Spiral look better, but still...) 3. Sound is sometimes out of sync with the video.
I really wish you would combine this free offering with a high quality pay-to-view option for those of us with money to spare.

I agree with this. The actual cost to watch each episode was small and hardly a bank buster. Maybe $1.50, give or take, depending on the quality chosen. I miss the full screen, high quality version, where I could relax in my chair while watching and not have to sit through ads for the NFL or Dexter every freakin 5 minutes. Very irritating btw, toward the end of this latest epi I wanted to kill Dexter myself.
Erick has a good point. A perfect solution to all this would be to keep the lower quality (200K?) absolutely free, while still offering the higher quality (500K & 100K) on the pay system, for those that wouldn't mind giving. That way you'd still get some revenue from the ads, money from the players who want more convenience, and everyone is happy. The sun would be brighter, the skies clearer, birds would be singing and all the evil people in the world would just turn themselves in.... Aint it grand?!
Yes, I am on medication atm, how did you know?

ThatĘs because of the subliminal messages. Anyway CCP will send free TV to major alliances, which would be death to isk sellers!

I will happily pay a couple more $$ a month on my regular Eve subscription to be able to watch eve-tv. The only thing that stopped me from watching eve-tv in the past was that I needed to maintain yet another account. I want to be able just to click and watch and never worry about credits. Eve-tv is the coolest thing ever to convince co-workers to play Eve.

Are you refering to claims made on another forum that some presenters and experts were chosen because of their 'eye candy' value? Well I for one think that those claims are rubbish, and that spiralJunkie and Benilopax are doing a great job.
