I just created a character but when I go to the EVE insider character management thing to take a look at him I only get a picture of a !.
Does anyone know how to change this?

Make sure your logged into the forums (you'll know by havint the Forums coloured in yellow, with three options below it) Choose settings. Then select 'character' and check mark the include your profile signature box..then it should appear

It takes 24 hours but sometimes a few days to get your picture rendered, not sure if the queue is really that long or if the rendering computer is being used for something else during the week.

Ya gotta make a few posts (besides the replies to your own) and I think it helps if you aren't in a newbie corp.

It used to be 12 to 24 hours after first forum post for a character pic to appear.
Now it seems to be about a week.

Well, the odd thing is that I've once made a '3rd' character and had it rendered. I play around a lot with that slot to try new faces, and every time I make a new face, the slot is rendered immediately.
No clue as to what the usual time is... but I thing your best bets are Monday, Wednesday and Friday after DT as those are the days they do their maintenance and upgrades on the database.
