They didn't lay off GMs.
They released an expansion. Lots of people resubbed. Lots of people (old and resubbed people) started to whine to GMs about how they got ganked and how their ship must be reimbursed and all that. Petition volumes spiked.
Then we had the holiday season. Unlike you might think, CCP actually didn't have extra staff on hand to handle higher petition volumes that obviously come during holidays (more time for people to play) and instead many GMs went on a christmas holiday. Oh, some were there 24/7 as usual, but not as many as normally.
Petitions piled up.
GMs came back from the holidays and the pile of petitions fell over and flattened them.
They are now in the process of digging themselves out from under that pile. Please wait.

Lots of excuses. Waiting a week is an unacceptable time and an abomination of customer service.
Glad I don't have any petitions.
If anyone ever looks at you and says, "Hold my beer, watch this,"-á you're probably going to want to pay attention. |

Wait, wait, by holidays you mean Christms and New Years?
It's been 3 weeks and they still didn't catch up? You believe that to this day they are still wading a stack of petitions from the holidays... from December?? I find that prospect alarming
That's great people want reimbursement for lost ships, but maybe the priority should be market glitches that cause you to lose 2 billion isk for no reason in what should be an obvious open and closed case.
P.S. you're welcome lady spank, please direct further comments or complaints to my inbox |

Nothing now, I neither have nor have ever had to file a petition. Though if I ever had to wait a week for support on any product I pay for I know what I would do. Leave. Though that's the benefit I and the majority of Eve subscibers enjoy, we're casual and can walk away without a second thought whenever we want.

I'm glad I don't have any serious problems with this game, but I feel sorry for any who do, it does seem that CCPs customer service at least GM side is as bad as virgin media, at least they don't make you go through one of those horrible phone services though to speak to them.

This. Glad to see there's still rational people. It's just past Crucible release and the holidays were not long past. Sorry that CCP are only people... Commanding Officer of the Treacle Tart Brigade SLAPD Director |

3 petitions or you had to wait 3 weeks?
I don't know what you 'd consider an 'urgent petition', but i lost 2 billion isk. For me thats a ****-ton of work. Infact I havent even played the last 2 weeks cause its too ******* depressing to look at my corp wallet.
It shouldnt even take 2 minutes to undo one bs transaction |

Reimbursement petitions take the longest because they have the biggest backlog, because there are players that petition everything they misplace or lose to simple stupidity.
I hate to break it to you, are you sitting down? Be prepared to hear "the logs show nothing".

Welcome to the club. I have had two petitions get closed due to time-out unanswered some time ago, Both of them talking about this issue. The world is a community of idiots doing a series of things until it explodes and we all die. |

No. I routinely create buy and sell orders on several items across many regions, and then frequently modify those buy orders. By accident I entered a couple extra zeroes for a low quantity harbinger buy order. 17.5 million becomes 1.75 billion. This happens sometimes with lag and is a normal fault. The market application will compensate by acquiring the lowest sell orders covered, up to the buy quantity at the specific station. For unknown reasons however, the process failed to assign me the correct sell order in said station, and gave me a harbinger for a nonexistent sell order at the exact price the buy order was modified to include. |
