Yes, there are many uses of most ships in this game. Are you saying that your view of the way a freighter should be used is the only correct one?

Many things work as intended but with a dynamic enviroment different things will need to be tweaked.

And at the same time, i could argue : Freighters were able to carry cargo pretty much ignored, and then they started to drop cargo, maybe that was CCP's divine way of how you say it, "tweaking" things.
I tried to look back upon when freighters were patched in, but the frieghter descripto is completely typo'd (i,e someone copy/pasted the dreadnaughts descripto instead of actually writing one)
You could use a guardian to rat in 0.0, doesnt mean you would, would you?.
To your first point all i will say is : People have pointed out the fact again and again that if your going to keep a freighter alive, your gonna need to hire an insane amount of logistics ships just to block out the alpha, and then some, which eats into profits. Maybe, just friggin maybe, thats WORKING AS INTENDED now.

Thats also what it says under the dreads descripto  and something tells me they aint made for killing POS, could be where BoB got the POS Bowling idea from.
