Bah - so last night a corp mate and I (he's in a kessy and I'm in a Merlin) scan down a yummy Minmitar Navy frigate, and a fat Tristan in a low sec belt.
CHA-CHING
I gang warp us in and realize they are 50 km from us - but they are looting a NPC wreck. I bookmark the wreck, warp us out and warp us back to the bookmark praying they're too slow to warp out...
They are , lock the faction ship, scram, shoot (too excited to open up a ransom convo - believe me I cried about it later), moments later his ship goes pop, while the Tristan has peaced out and ditched his Minmitar buddy.
Do either my corp mate or I get a killmail - nope, mindless Sansha ship gets the final zap!!!
Try to politely ask for the killmail from the victim - and I get a promt 'F-you r-tard!!'. He basically says we cost him 30 mil and therefore he has no reason to forward me the killmail. I tried to persuade him that Sansha was the final blow so his grudge should be with those zombies.
More profanities in local from the victim ensue. Amazing how people get angry over blown up pixels...
Can't everyone who's involved in a ship's destruction get the stinkin' killmail CCP?! I just wanted to know what the hell vaporized - what was left in the wreck was pathetic isk wise (tech II afterburner?!?!?!?!?).
Lessons learned: Victim - never fly shiny ship in low sec belts alone (your 'buddy' ditching you is hilarious).
Me - compose yourself and ask for a ransom!! Oh and uh - yell yarr in local not gang chat! ______________________________________________ Sup brosef! Destry's Lounge is looking for a few good drunks - contact me in game. |

Yeah it sucks. I've killed quite a few blinkies at gates and the sentries got the KM.
At least you got the loot though. That's what really matters.

Yeah, but they ARE fixing it. See the dev blog ;)
Most victims have been nice enough to forward killmails, but some just won't, and there's nothing you can do about it, short of killing them again. I'll always send a mail, and, well, if they won't, they won't. No point in engaging in a smack-fest.

I'm glad to hear they are fixing it - I was sad not to see my eve-mail go flashy after the kill. The guy was a big cry baby, tbh I wasn't smacking whatsoever. I kept it civil - he didn't. I'll just use a locater agent and hunt him down again. ______________________________________________ Sup brosef! Destry's Lounge is looking for a few good drunks - contact me in game. |

You kill his ship, and you expect him to be nice to you? Sorry, I don't get the concept.
If it'd been me, I would have asked how much you were willing to pay to ransom your killmail.

I like the final blow system. They just gotta make that no NPC can receive the killmails. I'm pretty sure this can be implamented quite easily.
