A brand new fast-paced action novel just released title Homeland Insecurity that actually mentions Eve Online as part of the story/plot!!!!!
It's a thriller about domestic terrorism in the USA carried out by White Supremacists (i.e., ****s, Klansmen, Skinheads, etc). It's got a pretty good plot, moves fast, and is sort of like a John Grisham James Patterson book. Lots of things blow up and lots of peeps get killed as a reporter named Frank Delafield tries to find the terrorists. One of the characters plays EVE and several aspects of Eve are mentioned.
I won't spoil it any further -- definitely worth the read. To my knowledge, the first novel in the mainstream market that mentions Eve. Check it out and enjoy. The guy apparently plays the game in RL.

I couldn't find any reference to EVE in the book, but the author's http://www.myspace.com/richardabanes seems to confirm he plays EVE.

Eve Online is mentioned in chapters 15, 29 and somewhere else. This is the same guy who wrote a pro-video game book for parents. It has some screenshots of Eve in it and his gameplay.

I've exchanged a number of e-mails with the author and he is indeed an EVE player of moderate renown. However, it is up to him whether he wants to post with his main or not.
The author has been kind enough to send me copies of both his books that mention EVE, Homeland Insecurity and What Every Parent Needs to Know About Video Games. I've read them both and will be bringing copies to the Reykjavik and Atlanta studios next month.
From what I understand, "Homeland Insecurity" is a work of fiction, but one based on research into the groups and organizations mentioned by the OP. It was an enjoyable and informational story that kept me entertained throughout. "What Every Parent..." was also an easy to read book that provided some insight into the video gaming industry as a whole and a worthwhile reference for parents of children who are of gaming age.

I love it when celebrities or relatively famous people talk about games they play. I remember reading a couple of years ago that Robin Williams (actor) plays Day of Defeat all the time with his kids. That blew me away that he got into a game I used to play all the time, especially considering it was a computer game and not some console game. I was always hoping to join a server and here him on voicechat shooting the **** but never found him lol.
