i have noticed this game is unfairly ballanced in security status gain and loss. i reallize i have been doing missions for a long time and my persuit to keep all factions happy is a losing battle. i run a level 4 mission and gain 0.1 security boos not to include kills but i noticed at the same time i lose nearly 0.3 with several other corps. like there will be 4 - 6 corps that will give you negitive standing around 0.05 each yes thats slower deteriation than a gain but if you combine all your loss status you are worse off. you can go mission for all these corps your slowly ruduse your status with long as you are not -2.0 corp or faction. but if you try to ballance it out you will see many of your once fiend corps turn slowly negitive and your if you do the numbersyou will wind up unable to run and mission for any corp because the will all hate you equaly

Imagine going to Chechnya few years ago. You kill some Russians, then kill some separatistic partisans. Think if you'd be able to keep both factions happy by regularly changing side and equally serving both.

Consequence of your actions. Ellaine explained it well, but here is another example anyways.
A hates B and B hates A. Good and dandy. You hit A and B thinks "What a nice girl, she is on my side." You then hit B and A thinks "Ok, so she hates us both." See, A didn't forgive you hitting him by hitting the one he hates. You will have to hit B a lot more times before you have proven that you are on A's side.

Edited by: Washell Olivaw on 26/09/2007 13:05:44 If you want to keep them all happy, don't do the storylines and don't accept missions where you have to shoot the opposing navy. That will leave just the pirates annoyed at you.
If you want to keep the pirates happy too, don't PvE.

called being a double agent you dont just say hey angels i benn working with you to long im going to join the other side and kill some of your finnest. NO you do your missions in high sec the one day a stranger arrives in angels area and they look at you like your a goodie to shoe because you have no criminal record once you have one then they be more than happy to send you after concord scouts. hey if you complete your mission that means all concord are dead so how will they report you as double agent hehe

Radio transmissions during the fight. Never been in the navy/army, but I believe they communicate who or what they are fighting

actually if your a marc, you don't lose standing, only gain rep for well done jobs, and get higher payments _____ _____ "When the moderators are gone, the trolls dances on the table." |

But that kind of reputation does not exist in current mechanics. There is no parameter representing your reputation as an efficient mercenary capable to do missions. It would be global parameter - when you perform well and its recorded, every potential contractor notes the fact. But they don't care if you're efficient. They pay you afterwards, and if you fail, they get another mission runner. You have individual standing to every NPC organisation you interacted with, and that standing represents trust, connections, even friendship or hatred. They remember you as a friend or enemy, not a good merc not caring about who he works for (that most of really are in fact. But that is not reflected in standing mechanics).

only makes sence to me... i am the new pesadent of minmitar republic and you have been a loyal sevice provider eliminating pirates. if i found out you were double agent that treason and punnishable by death. so dare you to enter any minmitar republic area. but if you were discrete about your double cross you can continue to run each side.

I think at this time it would require an AI to do something like this, the current system uses random results to decide. and what you are asking about while fun would require a good deal of power to do on the levele that is required for as many playaers as there is. bedides even a 1% chance on random would suck, 99 mission later your deciding there is a good random chance of being found out and losing an expensive set of implants. and imagin the standings hit for being found, -5.0 or something i would think. aside from them never issuing you missions again. would have to be talking in 100ths of a percent change to be found out to be even worth it.

i did think about that too. but i wanted to offer the candy and you guys can add the sour hehe.
but most of all this is a small MMO so it shouldnt be much a problem.
bigger mmo like WOW or of the sort may be more challenging.
i wish this was a bigger mmo tho it is so empty 17k players world wide is like a couple shakes of salt in a drinking glass.
this is why i wish EVE would hit the shelfs again. this has no baring on cost because they have already made thier return of investment.
eve is a far diferent game then it was 4 years ago its time the old player who quit learn of this by seeing it on the shelfs and they go hmmm is that like the EVE i used to play?

if it took ages to achieve i would be most happy! but as of now it is impossible no way no how can you please a faction without upsetting more than 1 enemy then you work on enemy side then all your firends and friend allies hate you then you swap againthe 2 agent you work for love you but the corp standings for many friend and foe hate you. so you lose ability to do missions for any/all corps if you ballance it out correctly
