im new on the game, been playing trial account for a few days.. 1st crash ive had.. i was out mining... will i loose my ship?

Im pretty glad it went down when it did. Not earlier.
I was transporting close to a bill worth of assets to jita :) So beeing stuck at a gate there would be bad. But now :) im docked happy and ready to enjoy real life.

Drive space should be monitored at all times, jeez we have MOM for this type of stuff or u can use CA - it's not hard to monitor your space usage on these drives, u can even setup monitoring when it hits a certain amount of space in a certain amount of time!

Meh I have 1m15s (currently) left on L5 of a rank 2 skill ... :-P
isn't it funny how some people advocate both GTC<=>ISK trades and EVE being superior due to its cruelty and costly losses, when they use the former to circumvent the latter?

No. When you log out in space (even if forcefully lile a disconnection) your ship will stay in game for 2 minutes, then disappear. It will reappear when you re-log in.
There is 1 exception: if you have fired or be fired upon by other players before the log out. In that case you stay in space 15 minutes.
