Okay, I have been reading through the forums, and I was under the impression that things worked as follows: I steal from someone's jetcan, so I am flagged to them, since I stole. Then they attack me, as well they have every right to. But by attacking me, they get flagged to my friend who's in a gang with me, and he (in his cruiser) beats them about the head until they fly off properly chagrined in their pod. (this is of course in hisec). Does their attacking me no longer flag them to my gangmembers, or does it only work if the gang is in the same belt as me, or what? Because last night me and my roomie tried it, and he got warned when trying to attack the carebear (I think I'm using the term right?) who had sent his drones onto my indy that if he shot the retriever it would be a criminal act, even though my roomie was in my gang.

If U are in a gang when A attacks U, Ur fellow gang member B still can not attack A, unless A attacks B. BUT - if A attacks B, concord will go medievel on A. Furthermore, in that instance, B can now retaliate to A since A attacked B first. Let's not mention C.

Any corp member then could have attacked him at that point. BTW - secure cans are called secure because you can put passwords on them so no one can steal from them. Guess they "fixed" that little circle of love at some point between when the original post was made that I had read, and now. A girl can get so confused, what with all the necro threads and whatnot 'round these parts.

Surrah	Posted - 2007.09.26 23:13:00 - [10] After testing this to extreme extents, these are the aggro chains associated with theiving. Thief = T Victim = V Gang = G Corp = C Alliance = A T steals from V. T is flagged and shootable by V, V's G,C,and A. T can only shoot at those who shoot at T. No matter who shoots at T, no one else gets aggro on V, V's G,C,or A. The T is isolated and on his own. The only help T can possibly get is remote repping and cap. If someone assists T; V, and V's G,C, and A get get aggro on the person assisting. The person assisting only gets aggro when he gets shot at because he inherited T's theif aggro, and is thus also isolated. Meaning V et. al. can kill T without fire from T's friend, then move on to kill T's friend without fear of retribution. Short version, If you steal, you are on your own. If you are stolen from, you don't have to worry about T's backup, they won't get aggro on you. Surrah P.S. You should always be aware that after the fight, T can warp away in pod, get a new ship, and come back for seconds before the aggro timers wear off. He has 14 or 15 minutes from the last engagement to re-engage before the aggro wears off.

V can then pick a new SINGLE target to kill and continue to pick off T's friends one at a time until they warp away. Surrah Edited for a typo
