I don't think exploration is broken - but it needs tweaking
There is something weird about the fact that I can find Radar sites with a Gravitic probe yet I can't find the Gravitic anomaly ????
I also get frustrated when I mistakenly clear a cosmic anomaly of all targets - jump out to get my miner to take down the roids - and come back to find the site has disappeared. I must remember to leave one of the targets alive - lol
I don't mind the time it takes to find a site - I've been looking for one site on and off for 2 weeks now. Its like a mini hobby. And you should always have something left to achieve

it's not broken, it's just popular.
Popular = many people doing it Many people doing it = they find someting and farm it They farm it = it's gone from space It's gone from space = your multispectral will return nothing

Edited by: Eclip on 02/10/2007 01:37:14 Well the grouping of anonomalys is very annoying but i dont think the rewards are borked in any ways. I have found countless drone encounters (not in drone regions) that are furthur then 4au from a planet they take about 15-20 minutes to run and yield around 40 mill of drone loot. Now if i could find a constant supply of these i would be very rich as this is in the order of 120-150mill an hour and u cannot make this from ratting/missioning or even mining.
I have found a rattlesnake BPC in my home system 1 bil thank you very much. I cant count on my fingers and toes how many data interfaces i have found let alone encryption books. Maybe im just lucky and live in a region where noone scans but it has been very profitable for me. Finding the majority of these in the last 3-4 weeks so it has bee quite profitable for me and i have even stopped ratting as i cna make far more money scanning and exploring.
The really good stuff is in the warp points between celestial objects so u need to be good with Bm's to cover teh system and get the good hits. and i only have my scanning skills at pinpointing 4 and triag 3. and usualy onyl takes me less then 2-3 scans with the quests to get my hit and drop to sifts to get a warp in point. Having a CEO that encourages you coz he enjoys running the Plex's to pay 4 ur probes is a good thing coz it can become quite expensive while learning the ropes.

No its not broken you have to click few times .. whats the problem with a good fitted ship you can be real fast. The Multispec bug is annoying but not a real problem.
But they should change the loot table a bit, even crap is better than nothing.

Exploration isn't really broken, it simply changes from patch to patch, since conception. The main problem is, that once there were sites everywhere, now you are hard pressed to find them anywhere....
Anomalties need to come up as Anomalties, not unknowns in the multispecs.
Loot tables need to be revised, especially the old static plexes now in exploration.
Apart from that, the analysing isn't a problem

the only anoing thing is the cosmic anomalys showing up as uknowns. otehrwise (and i have extremely sucky exploration skills) i dont have any problems finding grav/radar etc sites within acceptable time.

i agree. we did now twice the 8/10 pith plex without any deadspace loot. it always was a pain in the ass to clear out all those friggin anomalies first (arround 5-6 drone ones each time we had to do) then get nothing.

Anomalies showing on multi' is annoying, but I can work around it. I left my scan time a bit longer than most would as I work at home and get alot done between button mashing. Also is nice for when you read and you get too a juicy bit in the book and don't want to put it down quite yet.

I consider it a good thing, that anomalies show up too. The less skilled and less experienced player will be pwned by frustration. The skilled and brave prevail. That easy.
In fact: I would not mind if it would be even more difficult.
edit: on loot tables - have you ever considered the possibility, that you are not the first in the plex and that you got pwned by a "master explorer"? At least I leave plexes intact with all rats and some loot (except the most expensive) before I log off and go to sleep.
Can I have your stuff?

probably you have no clue how ded's work. if you kill the overseer (dewak in pith 8/10) the plex DESPAWNS. so lootables are broke:)

pft what you mean you dont find anything? scan for gravic anomalies(those things for on-bard scanner) as well, seems like every 0.0 system has a dozen of those -_-
and werent those things intended to be high-sec only for the new players to get into exploration or soemthing? dont even bother trying to track down unknwon signals cause of those things :/

So how exactly does skill and experience allow you to determine whether there is a real unknown plex in a system with an anomaly or not?
Or do you seriously say that clearing out anomalies (and then finding some are bugged and do not despawn) is something that requires a skilled and experienced pilot?
Then again seeing your 'knowledge' of plex overseers, you prolly DO...
There is no 'n' in turret There is no 'r' in faction There is no 'a' in Scorpion There is no 'e' in Caldari There is no makeup in rogue drones |

You can. If you want to know, you are free to mail me ingame and buy the info from me at 10bill. I will gladly work out a secure deal with you eg. including a third person we both trust.

Well reading his statement and his remark of the loot clearly showed, that he finished an already pharmed plex. Considering his statement targetted to me, well...
Wouldnt you laugh also?

I think he's just saying that you need good inter-celestial BMs to cover those zones completely. Or he's just crazy. * * * In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.
