I've just downloaded and started playing Eve and to be honest have no idea what to do or where to go.
I've done the tutorial and such and then its sort of "hey what do I do now". Ok I can mine stuff, but what else. Are they mobs for fighting, if so where are they. If not what else is there to do other than mine.
Please forgive what is a really noob question, its just this game seems "so" big and open ended that I'm more tha a bit lost.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

I am new also but here is my take on the game. Yes the tutorial leaves you hanging a quite a bit. These forums will help out a quite a bit. Since I am 3 days old and all I have done is mine, mine, and more mineing... Since mineing is so time consuming (and you need the money) in the meantime I am constantly asking questions on the chat channels. Reading forums, and researching the items and skills I need. I can see now that it will take a long time before I can acually do anything signifigant with the game. My suggestion is just to learn about anything and everything while you are making money mining. The best way to learn what you can do is to start asking questions on the channels while you are making money.

I would honestly say that for a more guided approach to learning - do agent missions. they are decent money as well (better than mining veld, and less boring, and get to see some places too) -----

Agent missions are a good place to start. Be aware that some agents give kill missions, and some give you delivery missions. When brand new, the delivery missions are probably a better bet. Before too long, you should be able to upgrade from your starter frigate to a better market one. Just remember to ALWAYS insure your ship. When you are just starting out, losing your ship without being insured can ruin you. Feel free to look me up in game if you like, or post any more questions here. I'd be more than happy to answer any questions I can. -In space, no one can hear you whine |

There, some isk to start u off :)
Mining is, well inevitable :) I do some mining, some fighting, and few missions now and then. Kestrel is a great caldari frigatte, although a bit expensive, but u can allways find some cheap missiles on the markets around :) ----------------------

Reggie that's the beauty of EVE. It's open endedness.
You are free to create your own stories and conquests, beliefs and ideals. Your first step would be to find a good player corporation, within no time at all once you do you will find your purpose in EVE.
Storyline in EVE is not force fed to you like in other mmos, its simply there in the background for you to engage in if you wish.
Your destiny is very much in your own hands, free your mind and let it wonder....
