I've been having this debate for a while now and just wanted to know for sure once and for all. Let me give you a hypathetical. If Jeff (flying a thanatos) assigns control to 5 of his fighters to Bill (flying a shuttle), who's skills will effect the damage/tracking/speed/etc of those fighters, and what drone skills effect fighters (besies the "Fighters" skill of corse).

Bill's drone skill matters. (allows for 5 fighters) Jeff's skills affect everything else.

Interesting. The reason i ask is becuase when i assign fighters to my industrial char (piloting a viator) while i'm ratting, they don't seem to do much damage (i have drones 5 and scout drone op 5 on him) but when i assign them to my combat char (in a raven) who has reasonable drone skills, they seem to do more damage. Can anyone confirm his statement?

Are you trying it on the same NPC's? Is the miner in .5 and the combat in 0.0?

When i rat, i log on to 3 accounts, carrier pilot to assign fighters, industrial to haul loot (alloys since we're in the drone regions of 0.0) and my combat pilot to fly a raven/do damage/get agro. Tried them on the same NPC's, but maybe it was just a coincidence that one 'appeared' to do more damage. it's hard to tell since i can't see the damage messages.

Next time we are both on, call me, i will be more then happy to test this for ya.
My hyperion makes a nice target for teh fighters ... and i get to see dmg msgs...

The 5% bonus to damage of the thanatos do not apply to fighters, if they are assigned, or off grid.
In other words, with carrier lv 5, your fighters will do 25% less damage than they would if you had control.

Yeah, your carrier has to be on the same grid as the fighters to get the bonuses, from what I've been reading (I'm a budding carrier pilot). Of course it would be good to get a definite answer.
