I am posting because it has come to my attention that a disgustingly high percentage of you all don't know what the orange box is. The orange box is a package deal from Valve software. 45 bucks gets you half life 2, half life 2 episode 1 and 2, Portal, And team fortress 2. You can buy it over steam.
As much as this sounds like a marketing pitch it truly is the gaming deal of the century, and it surprises me that so few of the people I know in EVE have preordered/are going to buy it.

Does it have to be in orange though? Thats just kinda a ick color and it wont match my shoes very well.

When i started at college I moved into a dorm where everyone played Halo..... I picked up a controller and after 5 minutes flung it away, rightly claiming that GODDAMN twiddly sticks were for outright losers.
I got laughed at a lot that day as a snooty PC user, who BTW utterly failed at Halo.
I dont like getting laughed at, so I picked up the controller again, and redoubled my efforts. The next day, I was having a blast. the week after that everyone stopped playing halo on the map 'hang em high', because I OWNED with the sniper on that level.
Twiddly sticks is just another input method: it takes getting used to. thats all.

What you should have done is waited for Vista Live to come out, and thrash them all at Halo 2 using your PC versus their X-Boxes.

FPS isn't really my thing anymore (because I suck, and can't be arsed to get better), but the Orange Box looks sooooo very good that I might have to get it. Portal alone is worth it.

Who in their right mind would want to play a console FPS? The PC is the clear preferable format to play any of the games in, I couldn't possibly imagine anybody playing it on a 360 or ps3, how could anybody possibly have precise controls on a console? It's a complete no-brainer, also the PC community will have dramatically less x-tards.

Yeah they are exceedingly useful, just set up one behind a sentry gun, get in between the two, and continually wrench the sentry gun.

Some people cant play an FPS without the game aiming for them, enter the console.
