Ok, so every day I walk home from college and I listen to my music. As I'm a musical guy, love films and an EvE addict, whatever tune I'm listening to I can see a great EvE video of some PVP scenes or whateva depending on the tune.
Now I know some people are lyricists and rate a tune to the quality of the lyrics and others rate the tune by the musicalness of it all(tone, timbre, contrasting, dynamics etc).
My question is, when you put down a tune for your videos, do you select a piece because of the lyrics relating to the action, or the feel of the piece relating to it?

In hollywood the music has to follow the film ( actions, drama etc. )
but since i cant pay Hans Zimmer to make music for my vids, i have make the movie follow the music ;)

i havent done many vids for eve, but allways pick a good tune, and mold the vid around the tune... i dont go for lyrics, i usually use intrumental type tunes.

As these guys have said you have to mould the tune to the video. So, it doesn't really matter about the lyrics, as long as the video and music are in sync it is good. Thing is, normally rock music works best. I pick a tune for the video because i can see and hear the beat, if you know what i mean. So, something explodes when you hear the bass get louder, and fights begin when the guitar starts playing. Warp in's when the introduction is on / fades etc.

Bit of both, but sometimes its just because I like it, and theres some key beats which match transitions perfectly. :)

Similar to others, I kinda look for a tune based on it's tempo, then follow through with the available footage to see if it works.

I usually go with the beats rather than the lyrics however sometimes the lyrics go really well too.

Also, there are specific genres of music that I feel fit the different races. eg. Amarr - Grand Classical Marches?

I choose a song/piece of music that has decent beat, drive and variation that I can picture coinciding with particular eve scenarios. The soundtrack is the first thing I lay down when making a video.

drum & bass, electronica etc works best for me. Ambiotic generally, rock / metal i dislike mostly, but most of all lyrics dont mean a thing to me in a eve video - am just looking at the action not listening to the words with any real attention.
