Ok, i dont know if this has been discussed befor but ive had a thought on skill points. Early in your chars career you didnt know which way to go and you trained a few mill in industry etc skills, now after a while youve got bored doing industry and wish to concentrate on pvp but youve got all those sp in industry that you dont want to use any more. Would it be a good idea if CCP implemented a skill point trading system (not trading with other players) where say you had 3 mill sp in industry you could trade it for a restricted amount of sp in another skill tree (say 100% of the original sp in industry could be traded for only 50% of its amount in another skill i.e. gunnery etc).
Obviously this would work all ways like trading pvp etc skills for industry if youve had enough of pvp.

would encourage farming for SP, and thus, another avenue for ISK sellers to sell something for RL cash.
Also, would be abused to high heck. -

Step 1: put all stat points in INT & MEM (especially MEM) Step 2: Train INT, MEM, learning skills Step 3: train Industry skills (Primary: MEM, seconday: INT) at about 3000 SP per hour. Step 4: periodically shift SP into other skills Step 5: win!
CONCORD provide consequences, not safety; only you can do that. |

problem with that, the OP said that the transfer would be 50% of the orignal skill, so if your training at 3000 an hour in industry skills and transfered the skill points to other skills, you would only get an effective 1500 an hour in the skills you transfered the skill points to. with good attributes, implants and learning skills you can make 2000 an hour in most skills.

Edited by: DeathMan on 30/09/2007 13:12:30 Yeah theres a few things that I don't want in my skills column.
I definatly wouldn't mind it at all, maybe not 50% though thats cutting it a little thin but a good round number, or up to a certain amount of SP it would be a stepping system first 250k or so would be 100%, next 250k would be 75%, next 1mil would be 50%, and down from there.. Definatly make it a 1 time deal though per character. Once its done, its done for good on that character..
I know this was brought up a while ago about doing this as well.. i mean back in 03.

Okay, don't see any problems with that idea. While we're at it, I would like to be able to just delete skills. I mean, discart the skill and all sp I have in it.
Does anyone else get annoyed looking at their skills and seeing those useless ones they got when they created the char like mining level 1? Just need to have a very safe way of doing it so nobody ever does it by accident. (like you delete it and it goes in to deleting status and then 7 days later you have to confirm you actually want it gone and then it goes away).
