Well so far in eve I have lived a very carebear life, Lived in 0.0 for a short period with my former corp. Moved back to safe and sound high sec after a while to do some skill training with +5 implants. While doing that i continued to trade and mine on my other accounts. My wallet grew fat.
Decided i wanted to do something new. Join the dark side and make people cry or something. I was talking to this friend of mine, which name will stay off the boards. He invited me to join his corp and i swiftly moved to another corp. I guess low sec is something i can really enjoy.
So i was sitting in a 0.4 docked waiting for something to happend. I was also monitoring the module and modulation channel, Ive noticed this guy for a couple of days spamming there. He wants to buy carrier fittings, he did not say what he wanted, just carrier fittings. I asked him in the channel what he wanted, but nothing came out. Just carrier fittings. Cheap carrier fittings, he only had 700 mil.
Hmm i started to question him on a alt, after some talk i suspected him of beeing a ****** or something.
So i convoed him and told him i could help him out. Used a little social engineering and pretended to be very nice and helpful. He told me he had only 700 mil so the hardners would have to be T2. I asked him what else he wanted, but he didnt know. I suggested 2 - 3 Drone control units, perhaps a remote capital armor repairer and a capital armor repairer and some cap boosters.
He agreed after i explained him what the different stuff did. I have no clue how to fit a carrier so i had to wing it :)
But i started buying the parts 1 by 1. Bought him the capital armor rep, cost me 42 mil. He asked me how much it cost. i said 72, contracted to him, then he accepted. Then i bought him another capital armor rep and contracted to him for 72. 60 mil profits so far.
And those nifty drone control units i bought for 50 mil or something and contracted to him for 80 mil. Another 90 mil profits.
Capital remote armor rep i think cost 34 mil but i contracted it to him for 70 mil or so.
And he wanted some CCC I rigs. Those i sold to him for 85 mil i think.
I was smiling not becouse i made a couple hundred mil isk, i have a few billions stacked up. but becouse i took his isk. I wanted to tell him that he got punked, but he said thanks and gave me 75 mil extra for helping him fit his carrier.
I think he is going to cry sweet bitter tears when someone tells him that he paid alot for a t1 fitted Thanatos.

There is no point, just a funny story about how i scammed my first 250 mil.
Or well there is a tiny point. That i enjoyed the darkside just a little.

I'd have to warn you though, that guy sounds like an isk buyer, doesnt even know what specific carrier fittings he wants

yup thats true :) but every little step counts. Hmm isk buyer you say? i didnt think of that. but he was in a 0.0 corp with a few months behind him there. And likely if he can pilot a carrier he can afford one. The skilltraining takes a bit time?

As you say, you've only just got into lowsec and ~you~ have a very basic idea of how to fit a carrier. Not only did that guy not have a clue about his setup, but he was even devoid of the ability to check the market for prices! He was an ISK buyer.

Na i lived a while in 0.0 and ive done alt trading so ive considered buying a carrier actually. but cannot pilot one.
But what i said was that it will take aprox like 120 days to pilot one? Im not entirely sure there. but everyone can make a billion or 3 in 120 days.
I didnt give it much consideration till now actually.

find out where his setting this carrier up once it flies blow it up using friends
