I was 2-3 months old with a craptastically-fitted raven (3 large shield extenders, no resistance modules, an XL shield booster, siege launchers, fitting mods, and a warp core stab) and engaged Karanis from Karnival of Death Squad on one of the gates to highsec (he was flashy due to -10 sec status).. This is an alt & my main is inactive for a week or two while i take care of some things IRL as well as just take a break. Over a year old.

We sat in wait at the opposite gate to where he was camping in Egghell, and sent in our bait - a stabbed hauler (This was back when you could only warp to 15km). He chased, and was met with 2 angry t1 fitted thoraxes We managed to hold him long enough to kill his pirate ass before he killed either of us, even though the sentries did most of the work. I probably shouldnt have won but he didnt recover his drone fast enough and I tore them too pieces leaving him too fight me gun vs gun.. it was over fairly fast.. Nearly had a heart attack it was great :) Edit for age: 4 months old at the time.

Wont go into the setup but eve was different back then and Lasers acutallly used less cap to fire than hybrids. Noobs dont count. 1st kill was 1 month into playing, had a few frigates in a gang looking for trouble near the edge of 0.0 found a flashy red in a lacheis or something (might have been a scorpion, i forget). Bang bang , warp scramble, boom!! Locked his pod faster than i locked his ship. Thats what really ****ed the guy off, I guess he had faction implants

Would have been bubble camping RQH in my vexor with the rest of the gang and it would have been either a bs, hauler or shuttle. Too many things exploded during that period of time for me to remember. The most memorable was the Tri Optimum heretic I shot down solo using a Celestis. Lots of smack for that one. I agree I don't have the features to be a holoreel star. Most people have missed the point that this is Mobsters Online and that carebears are at the bottom of the foodchain.
Neal Cassady Mutually Assured Distraction	Posted - 2007.09.30 07:58:00 - [17] i was about ten days old, hanging around amamake in my rifter looking for t1 frigates to jump. i didn't really know how to use the scanner well but was getting used to it. i had been trying to get a kill for 4-5 days and was starting to think that all i was doing was wasting rifters when i saw another rifter on scan in a belt. i warped in, adrenaline gushing, and caught him fighting a rat. between myself and the rat we made fairly quick work of the rifter and i popped my cherry.

I was engaging the vexor with an atron (i think)- vexor was mining in high sec. After we killed the vexor the police showed up to kill us. I warped around the system not knowing wtf had happened and eventually i ran out of places to run and sat still watching as the police overtook me and wathced as they killed me This was the very beginning of the game and things were very different..:)

Beowulf Scheafer Gallente M34t p0p s1ckle Manufacturing	Posted - 2007.09.30 11:50:00 - [24] back in an old alliance of lamers called "CFS", 2 days after a 15man-curse-fleet literally annihilated the whole alliance. i was sick of diing and the behavior cfs had, so i camped the entrance gate to curse and stain space on my own in an apoc fitted with 8x 1400mm (thoose were the best and very unbalanced to that time, but the mixture was still barely effective, i was the biggest noob back then...). on the other side there were 2 bs from curse camping their entrance. they missed a stain bb and told me via local to kill it. what i did unfortunately. he had a cargohold full of zyd i got (the rest i couldn't grap the curse guys got). 2 days later i was recruited by a large piratecorp back then,and i was told a long while later from a former CFSnavy guy, a week after that stain engaged and again raped CFS because of that incident. from that day on till now i have a strong dislike vs stain/MASS etc. not for killing CFS, thoose ******s deserved nothing better, but rather for the fact it was my first podkill, kill and worthy looting ever

Was fun. I was in on that kill, I remember the night well. Great fun was had by all. Incidentally, we also took a stabber who was with the Mega. His mate in a Moa, came back, saw the Mega going down and the stabber in trouble, and ran screaming like a little ***** before the fury of our frigate gang. We later went on to BIG Blue's home space, and persuaded them to allow our small group safe passage out for not shooting anyone up lol! As for my own first kill, I couldn't have been in the game more than 2 months and was flying a craptastically fitted Cyclone (I had no appreciation of resistances at the time). My corp was at war with Spacerats, who were decent enough to engage us in T1 frigates mostly, only upping the anty if some of our older players brought out BS and HACs of their own. We had been chasing a small SR gang around a system next to Mikhir, and finally caught them leaving through the gate into Mikhir. Myself and a Taranis pilot were first through after them, to find a lone SR Punisher sat on the gate. We both locked while cloaked, then as the Taranis tackled, I unleashed hell from my 650mm Arty Is and assault missile launchers. I managed to attempt scrambling the can (as the pod warped). Shortly after, the SR CEO appeared at the gate in a TorpRaven. I ate a volley of Mjolnir torps, which completely flayed the shields from my Cyclone (no resists remember ). I promptly kacked myself, and warped as fast as I could to a station, and docked. I would like to say that we got his Raven at some point, but it wasn't to be. The war with Spacerats was a lot of fun, and I think the game would be more fun if there were more corps out there like them. Although they wardecked new corps, they never brought a sledgehammer to kill a fly, and I learnt a lot about pvp from fighting them. Akkarin Hopefully the mods won't play with this one <3 - Immy

I found a pirate punisher and fought it in a belt, it ended up winning on low armor (I shoulda fitted more nos). I then had my pod ransomed for 1mil isk. A week or so later I fitted out a stabber for pvp. I scanned the same pirate down in a belt in a rifter, and warped in and engaged. Blew it up fairly easily while a corpmate of the pirate waited at range in a moa - don't know why he didnt come in. Somehow I got a lock on the pod and blew it up for a million in bounty. I have to say the pirate was a good sport about it all both times. I didn't even stay to loot the wreck, I got straight out flushed with my carebearish noobie success. Solo both times ofc. (BTW White-Noise are a successor of SpaceRats, but well before my time) ---

But in my earlier trial account, however, I did run a lvl 2 complex in my railer Cata, just finished off some drones. I had to warp out since I was going below 20% armor. After repping up and getting shields loaded I went back to pick up my loot. This is when I caught a loot thief red-handed. I dont remember if he was in a Nemesis or a Tristan, but he did foolishly attempted to take me out as my eight rails blazed at him. I have to say for a frigate shooting back at an anti-frigate, he did blast my armor down to 50% before he popped and he didn't even try to warp and I had no warp scram or webber. Just eight guns and good ol' Iridium shells. Looks like drone loot was not the only thing I looted that particular day. Besides the other incident in low sec, this is the only PvP battle I ever had. I was a bit shaky afterwards as I didn't know how tough a Tristan or Nemesis was back then.

Was my 1st day with CURSE alliance when I moved my new myrmi deep into their 0.0 base, as I got to the station there was a hostile nanodomi running around and being extremly trigger happy I aggressed with a Raven and another myrmidon following shortly after. My poor ship made it out with about 40% structure left. The next day I was kicked from the alliance for being a suspected BOB spy and got killed omw back to empire

Took his ship, but not his pod. Got about fifty scan probes from loot. I had maybe 950k SP and had only been playing a few days. Speed tank baby! I used the money I'd built up from mission running (which Caldari are excellent at, btw) to buy a 2.5m SP Minmatar PVP character, which cost me only 300m. In all honesty, if you want to pirate solo, do NOT use Caldari. The best solo pvp'ers is Gallente, and arguably the best high-end race is Minmatar. Your first solo kill will be a very tough kill, since you won't have the skills to do damage before they get away, you cap out, they call in help, etc etc. BTW, your only hope at Caldari PVP solo is using the Drake with HAMs, especially at low SPs. Your best bet is probably gonna be setting up in a belt and just waiting for someone to come to you. Gate camps are too risky since you'll more than likely lose your ship. edit: Amarr is decent at pvp, but don't expect to win an even-matched fight unless you're a far superior pilot. Not in terms of SPs, but fighting technique.

By the time, though, I already knew how to fit & fly a Rifter well. I left my corp (they didn't want pirates, meh), founded my own, learned how to use the scanner, and found a nice little Osprey mining/ratting in Egghelende. Osprey stole from one of my cans (Yes, a can that droped from killing one of the pirate, the olden day wrecks :P) - I locked him, and scrammed, and started approaching, rather slowly (Only had an AB :/) - Was amusing, he said he would jettison it and please don't kill him in his uninsured osprey that he just bought for mining. I said I'd rather take the loot back from him out of his destoyed ship. And I killed him. Was only about my second week, too, heh.

If you're looking to be a good pirate, you prolly wanna start cross-training to Gallente, and then Minmatar. Personally, I'd go for a Myrmidon with blasters (doesnt take long to get medium hybrid turret 3) and your DPS will sky rocket in comparison to your drake/crapacal. Train to get 5 ogre I's on there, and you're in business. I think with t1 fittings and mediocre skills, you'll get about 160-180 DPS with the myrm and ogres. Compared to a Drakes 75-ish DPS for you, its a huuuuuuuge difference.

He kept coming back :) Since then a lot more kills have come this way and I only carebear to keep secstatus over -1.9 as my corp is empire/highsec based atm. Funniest kill so far was in Tama (0.3) when I was screwing around in my Crow. Saw a badger on scan and as I warped in to the belt I noticed that he had got some more protection, a Drake and a Ferox, while mining (IN A BADGER?!). The battlecruisers had their drones out already but I made a split second desicion and went for it. Orbited the Badger, scrammed and pounded him to death with my rockets. Aggroed by his friends drones I hit mwd to get out of scram range as soon as the badger died then warped away in 20% shields. Lots of LOL's in local from all parties after that :) Acerbus-Vindictum - Revelare Pecunia!

I then moved to 0.0 and rapidly was involved in the fight against LV. This was also my first big fleet fight and i remember i was shaking afterwards. After this i never turned back and became addicted to pvp.
Luke Pubcrawler	Posted - 2007.10.01 14:30:00 - [44] Summer 2006 during an empire war, so I was 2 or 3 months old. Our gang caught some opposing raiders on a gate near Mista in Domain. This was my first real fight so very confusing but luckily for me no one was shooting at my cormorant. Our inty pilot webbed and scramed a Hawk right in front of me and I let rip trying to kill it before it killed the inty. Unfortunately both went pop at the same time, but one of our frigate pilots took out the pod. Was an especially nice kill because the day before the same guy, flying a sniping tempest, had blown up my Merlin as I undocked from a station in Charra without realising you needed to be careful in wartime.

I had come close before - but I was clumsy with flying and using mods, so my prey would get away or kill me instead. I was flying a Merlin with blasters (armed with lead - wtf) and rockets, and an afterburner . I scanned down a pilot flying Thorax in a belt in Jan. Warped in - hit the afterburner and moved towards him - I kept it looking innocent by not targeting him until I was close. About 10 years later - I got in range, web, scrammed, and fired away while running tight orbits around him. Took ages, but I took him down - looking back I realize there was no way I should have won that fight - he never even released drones on me! (and my first death too ^^) I was tagging along with some corp mates at this altercation at a belt when about 160Km away a kestrel came in and starting taking things from a rat wreck i was unable to loot due to said altercation, anyhow I MWD'd towards him and he warped away, so I warped to the same belt as them, scrammed, webbed, and my pathetic 125m autocannon I's sputtered ammo at them until they died. My first death was some time before when I tried tackling an aggressive ferox, only to have the game lag on me and my orbit fall apart (there were LOADS of cans in the belt! ugh) >_< not blaming lag though, my death was near certain tonight, I just couldn't do anything. all in all a lot of fun
DredPirateRoberts	Posted - 2007.10.01 21:33:00 - [51] i've been playing about a month now. and i have 3 kills and 3 losses to my name. my first kill was actually 2 ships. a merlin and a caldari frigate...cant remember wot it was lol. was a couple guys i knew irl that had been playing for awhile and challenged me to a fight with whatever i choose to bring. i brought my brand new thorax and proceded to beat the crap out of them. my brother in an omen was watching from about 40 kms out. so while im looting the merlins wreck he starts yelling about someone warping in on us. all of a sudden i have a hac and a force recon scraming me i got of a couple rounds on the guy shooting my bro before he switched to me and target disrupted. so i self destructed and got away. my bro ended up floating in dead space after he ran his cap out. but i lost my brand new thorax >.< was kinda annoyed. so my first real pvp kill(i knew the guys from before) happened the next day. i bought a new thorax and was mining in high sec and a guy took some ore from my can. so he starts goin all blinky and for some reason my stupid ass drones wouldn't go after him. so i start to follow him after about a min my drones finally respond to the engage target command. so they whack him down to about mid structure and he warps out. so i kinda go looking for him, my bro is in the system and looks around at a couple stations the all of a sudden he warps up to the station i run in and out of and dock right when i warp away. so my bro warps up and i warp back and we sit outside. he comes out and gets lolowned by our cruisers. so i feel kinda bad and left his stuff on the wreck for him to pick up but now comes the best part. 5 mins later, my bro just undocked from the station and is floating outside the exit. the guy comes out in a velator and opens up on him with its little civi cannon. we both start busting up laughin. the all of a sudden before i could tell him to ignore the guy my bro lights him up with a volley of lazers from like 30m, pop goes the velator.

So I headed over to the belts of Egglhended (the system where I also lost my first ship to pirates). I wandered some belts. Then some guy in a rifter jumps me. He targets me and starts shooting me. I'm a little confused why a rifter would jump me, but I happily oblige. I scoop his can get a few T2 fittings, come back for the ammo and another rifter jumps me. Confused again, I oblige. Both escape in their pods. First guy told me he did it for fun. Second guy told me it was because I killed the first guy before he could get him.

Lysander Drakos Evolution	Posted - 2007.10.02 01:52:00 - [55] I started EvE as an anti=pirate in Derelik, my first podding(my death) was by this guy named FKN Cire from The Short Bus Squad [TSBS]. I used to convo him later on and try to get tips from him when I first started EVE. TSBS was like the Outbreak of thier day (only pirates) and were pretty feared around that area. Anyways, I decided to buy a cheap hauler in low sec, then proceeded jumped a few jumps to get it. This FKN Cire dude sent me to a clone vat as soon as I got to the gate in my new hauler. A definate WTF moment?! Later I looked at my market transaction and lone and behold, I bought the hauler from and FKN Cire. :) Nice move by him. Cheap low sec goods can bring kills too. LOL. Lesson Learned. My first actual kill was against an RA pilot when I was about 4 or 5 months old. Me and a buddy jumped him in a .2 on the border of the Great Wildlands with the help of some other guys. RA used to hang around the edge of Derelik cause -V- used to kick their ass at that time. They used to pod me quite a bit then as well so I don't want to make it sound like like I was a bad ass newb. I surely wasn't but trying to kill RA was the the thing at that time. I was piloting a cyclone to which I could barely pilot properly and I forget what my friend was flying I think an ishkur. The RA pilot was in T2 frigate, It was kind of then when I got interested in alliance warfare.

Finally decided that I probably couldn't after scrutinizing it carefully for shiny things that looked intimidating, and warped off to do the tutorial. Some punk stole my small nosferatu I in the training complex and I killed him over about 5 minutes in a glorious Ibis on Ibis battle culminating in my civilian railgun blowing him to pieces. To this day I don't know why he didn't warp away. I remember being disappointed when the nos went down with the ship.

I succeeded in my goal (I died trying). Working my way through 0.0 space, creating safe spots and checking out the belts, I came across several NPC rat wrecks and a wrecked battleship about 15 km. off a stargate. My heart sank when I opened the battleship's cargo--a newbie weapon, shield, and Basic Miner were all I could find. I looked nervously over my shoulder just in time to see a Hyperion appear on the scene; within moments I was locked and taking fire. I gamely orbited the Hyperion and started shooting back, chewing my way through most of her shields. Not that it made any difference to me, but she was not alone--a Cheetah made an appearance and took a role on my First Killmail. A few days later, I had hours and hours of hunting under my belt--hunting but not catching. Although a member of a lowbie pirate corporation by now, I found little prey and too many predators on my hunting trips. One day, however, a Catalyst popped into our home system, I raced in his direction, but was too late--a mate had arrived before me, and all I could find was the remains of the Catalyst. I grabbed the pilot's cargo as he had no room in his pod and little time before fleeing the scene, then waited around wondering if he'd come back for it. Sure enough, it wasn't long before he warped to my position, locking me on his Velator's targeting system. I opened fire and it was not seconds before he was once again fleeing in his pod--seconds that seemed like an hour. I was in little real danger, but at the time I didn't know what he was crewing or what it could do to me, and the feeling of adrenaline pumping into my blood was like a drug. Yum! I mean, Yarr!

I'm supposed to be a carebear in an industrial corp, but my heart already yearns for more. I have seen those few members of our corp who "patrol the pipe" and "keep the peace" and I know they are where the game really is. They're like a breed apart from the other PvE pilots like me, and I feel my budding kinship with them resonating. And then one night, an innocent reports getting ganked in what is supposed to be our territory--and there's no one on to keep the peace but me. 3 tech 1 frigates, he reports. This is back in the day when lots of people 'ratted in cruisers and frigate gank squads could make a decent way. Locking my newbish, carebear ways in a hard box inside me, I undocked my Stabber (fitted as follows: 2x AC, 2x Assault Launcher, 2x Medium Nos, MWD web scram, 2x small armor rep, armor plate... make of that what you will) and set out to right the wrong or die trying. So I told myself. In truth, I set out to blow crap up or die trying, and to hell with the moral justifications. My pirate soul, still unknown to me, cried out for violence! Turned out to be 4 frigates, though fortunately one of them would show up late and misinterpret the red on my life bars. I scanned out the three I knew to be there and landed fifty klicks out. They did not hesitate, so I did not hesitate. It was the first time I had ever aggressed. The first time I'd ever clicked "No, and shut up!" on the Dangerous Act dialog. I dove straight in, figuring I didn't have the skill or practice to dance out of web range with three microwarp-driving frigates. I knew I had nos, and a webber. I went for the all or none. I killed the Rifter first. I flew Rifters. I feared them. So I nos'd him out and then switched one of the leeches to the Punisher while I blew him away. Then I did the Kestrel. I figured those rockets were probably my biggest problem after the Rifter, since I could keep the Punisher empty if I played my game right. Armor started to fail when I ran out of cap. It didn't take long for everyone to run dry, after which I would just pulse one of the small reppers whenever I could get enough juice back to run it, and the rest of the time I just ground my teeth and watched the red grow. But then the Kestrel died. I turned all guns and both nos on the punisher, and he had nothing left to give. He was just going down when their fourth man finally arrived in response to their calls for help. He got a lock and saw me at half structure and less than 10% armor, and he made an easy mistake in figuring I was on the edge and he just needed to push me over it. Truth was, I was back from the edge, and gaining ground, 'cause I could keep both of them from shooting while I rep'd up on the combined recharge rate of all three capacitors. I finished off the one and switched to the other, and by then I knew I'd won. All the fear and uncertainty melted away and left just the rush of it, the shaking and the adrenal high. When that fourth frigate blew up, I was killing for the fun of it, untouchable, the cat toying with its prey. When that carebear corp collapsed, I joined Legi0n and never looked back--except to that day. I look back to that day often. I had made a missile ferox with 2 med nos, a web, scrambler, and a shield tank of course and headed out to low sec to do a bit of ratting and to see what kind of trouble i could get into. I went to Crielere, a .4 sec right next to Rancer and started to belt rat. About an hour went by and while local was never quiet, no one bothered me. Finally an Ev0ke corp member jumped into a belt with me in a Huggin and proceeded to target me and let loose with his autocannons. I was able to web him back and to my surprise we both got each other down to structure after a long fight. I know my nos at the time were the only thing that saved me really. I was able to pop him, and he congratulated me. It felt really good beating an almost 2 year old player who jumped me, expecting an easy kill. Gave me alot of confidence too.

Dropped my can and offered him to loot. Instapopped him as soon as he flashed red. T2 precision heavy missiles on drake. I saw him spamming for like 10 minutes and he was going on my nerves.
