I only started playing a few days ago and after a few tries, I want to actually become immersed in EvE. To spare the details I learned that by raising certain key attributes that revolve around the skills you wish to focus on, it will decrease the learning time, but it has a 1 year timer on it.... so I really don't want to make any mistakes and become stuck with something that isn't optimal.
I was wondering if there was a guide, program or something that allowed me to pick the most optimal remapping. Currently I am most interested in intelligence and Perception. It was going to look like this:
Intel: 23 Perception: 21 Charisma: 17 Willpower: 18 Memory: 20
Any help would be appreciated. Also, this is my first post so if I was suppose to put this somewhere else then I was unaware. |

I wouldn't drop any attribute lower than 19, in my opinion. |

EvEMon will help you plan your skills then help provide optimal mappings for skills.
If you're starting out you have between 2 and 4 remaps (depending on some things, and me not being sure about some others), so consider spreading those out over your first 2 years playing. So aim for 3-6 month long mappings, but make those periods focused. If you get good at the mapping game, you can get ~20% faster skill training over an even mapping over the course of your character's life.
tl;dr Your Game-play goals should influence your Skill plan, which should influence your remaps. Reverse any of those directions and you'll probably regret it.
EDIT: The guy above is either crazy or is unwilling to make a plan and stick to it. dAWwww, here he goes. -áPoastin' Drunk agin. |

Another vote for Evemon. it's a very handy tool. I screwed up my remap just playing with it when I started a few months ago. Now that I know better I made up a training plan for 2012 based on the ships and items I want to be using. Evemon has a handy tool that tells you what the ideal mapping should be. |

Having somewhat balanced attributes like you listed would be sub-optimal in all cases.
If you want to have good training times on the most skills while playing the character at the same time, I suggest putting seven points into Intelligence and seven points into Perception. That would give you:
INT 24 PER 24 CHA 17 WIL 17 MEM 17
Why do this? Because the primary attribute is always the most important and it has the greatest effect on training times. With this remap you get good training times on Electronics, Engineering, Gunnery, Mechanic, Missile Launcher Operation, some Planetary Management, Science, T1/T3 Spaceship Command, and all T3 Subsystems categories. All of the categories I just listed train at a high level with this remap, and that's very good. You can pick and choose what combat and support skills you want, and they will all train pretty fast. Much better than a balanced remap.
The only bad categories with this remap are Corporation Management, Leadership, and Trade. Those train at a low level.
Also, make sure you get Cybernetics I at least, so you can plug in a full set of +3 implants. Those will help immensely. |
