In the world of Sci-Fi, what is your favorite ships?
Personally I remember watching a couple episodes of ST DS9 and the Defiant kicked alot of but. It was small, sleek,and packed a huge punch. It also cloaked. (Definately needs the nerf bat lol)
Didn't like the ships from star wars too much. in the old movies they looked clunky, new ones too shiny.
In the world of EVE what is your favorite ships?
My personal favorite is the Executioner frig off amarr. It looks like*****pit attached to two big fricken engines. Looks fast as hell.

The Dominix has such a sweet looking skin!
The Omen is very nice, the Thorax is a tradition sci-fi shaped vessel.

I always liked the spaceships of the old star wars movies... they had a pretty plastic/real look, not comparable with all these bad computer animated "things" you get nowadays on the screen.
As for Eve I like the Tristan, Kestrel, Vexor, Thorax, Rupture, Tyhpoon, Raven desgins the most...

Eve has a lot of really neat ship designs, hard to pick just a few since i can appreciate many of them.
Tristan, Punisher, Merlin are cool battle frigates.
Thorax, Vexor, Stabber, Black Bird are cool Cruisers.
Apocalypse, Armageddon, Tempest and Raven are cool Battleships. I used to be in love with the megathrone but after seeing it's skin job in game i didn't quite like it anymore.
Even indy's have cool designs (especially minmmitar indies).

in eve my favourites is the Heron and Vigil designs, to bad i dont got any use for them.
otherwise i really liked the starwars models, specially the X-wing and the federation star-cruisers.

The Merlin owns me. It is by FAR my favorite ship in eve as far as looks are concerned. Ever since the very first screenshots way back before even the beta, I knew, I wanted a Merlin. Now I'm just waiting for the elite Merlins 
Other ships I enjoy:
The Gallente cruisers, all of them. Yes, even the Celestis!
Moa. It's "ugly" but looks like it means business, and I like that.
Megathron. I'm not so fond of the battleships, but the mega is definately king where looks are concerned.

Over all.. Super Star Destroyer from the original Star Wars trilogy. It looked like it was.. big bad and mean 
In Eve, i have to agree the Merlin looks kick ass.
I think most of the Caldari ships are ugly as sin though.. sucks cos i have to fly them. Just got an Osprey (i know it is ****e but i am not rich yet)and man is that weird looking!

I always liked the way the Arbitrator looked... But the ship was virtually useless in combat. It would be nice to have a Romulan Bird of Prey and a Titan that looked like the Deathstar :)

Arbitrator, Punisher, Thorax, Belladrine (though its taken out I still hope it will come back someday), CONCORD Frigates, Kestrel, Apocalypse...
I can name a lot more but I just realised the art department has done a great job

Outside of this game.....has to be the Andromeda from......TV's Andromeda...that is a sweet looking ship (complete with slipfighters/drones and all) - in game....Thorax is still the best looking ship....as for scary looking....Megathron....

Typhoon is badass, apoc is neat also as well as the rupture
Thorax though is just sooooooo ugly just for one reason, the kneeling leg under it. There is the running joke that it looks like it's on one knee about to give someone pleasure and if you take a good look it's pretty funny =).

I think I'm the only one who loves the Atron design - it's really neat when you think of it. Looks like an alien fighter craft from HalfLife or something :)
Other than that Minmatar indies/frigates are my favourites. I kinnda like it when the models are "dual-sided", aka their left side is mirrored to their right.

i'm not much of a star trek fan but the enterprise from the next generation is probably the best looking ship i've seen on television atleast.
i liked the battleships from starship troopers, those were neat.
as far as eve, raven by far is the coolest looking battleship, caracal is best looking cruiser, and punisher is the best looking frigate.

you have got to go with the imperial star destroyer and past that well the B-Wing, X-Wing, and the TIE Interceptor are all really really hott ships. I didn't really like the new age star wars ships though... too... shiny for my tastes.

Mine has to be the Apocalypse. Pretty at the start of playing EVE I saw screenshots of it on eve-gate (were just labeled "Amarr Battleship"), and I just thought "Oh my god, I have to get one of these!". It really conveys a feeling of being huge and intimidating.

Well i really like the membarie cruisers and the vorlon ships from Babylon 5, you so wouldnt want to go up agains a membarie cruiser mean looking ships man.
As for eve its got to be the megathron, thorax and the tristan, very nice looking

Hard not to like the Thorax....
But have you taken a look at an Arbitrator? Those look real nice. :)
Out-of-EVE...The 'Future Enterprise' from the last episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation. Galaxy-class Enterprise-D with a third warp nacel and a big-ass phase cannon on the underside of the saucer section. Wouldn't wanna meet that in my Apoc.

Oh EVE, currently the Vexor, had I found a use for it I bet I'd fallen in love with the Omen.
Hmm, is it me or is does the Vexor resemble the helicopter from Minority Report? Put that one down as a favorite too, can't get it to materialize yet I remember finding it appealing.

The USS Sulaco and the lander (aliens) is one of my fave ships outside of EVE, along with all the Imperial Star Destroyers and TIE class ships.
Oh and ofc the Bismarck in RL!

I don't really like the Star Wars ships. I like the Star Trek ships better, such as the original Constitution class Enterprise and the Enterprise A. I also like the Excelsior class such as the Enterprise B and the Miranda class. I don't like the Enterprise-D Galaxy Class and Sovereign class. I like the Intrepid class (Voyager), the Prometheus class, the Nova class (like the one shown in the last episode with Harry Kim as the captain), and the Akira class. I think the Enterprise NX looks ugly. I don't like the Defiant either, which does not look rightly Trek to me.
Among alien ships, I like the Klingon Bird of Prey, the Vorcha class battlecruiser, and the big Romulan Warbird (Deridex class it's called I think). I think the Warbird and the Romulans are like an inspiration to the Amarr.
I like the original Battlestar Galactica, the Vipers, the Cylon raiders and the Cylon base ship.
In other games I like the Sabre class and Hammerhead class heavy fighter from Freelancer; the Galspan Archangel from Tachyon the Fringe; the Dralthi from Wing Commander, the Medusa bomber from Freespace. But the best ship designs I've seen were from the Homeworld series, many of whom are just incredible from the Taiidani Interceptor and bomber, the Hiigaraan Mothership, the Hiigaraan Battlecruiser from HW2, the Kadeshi mothership, the Kun-Laan mining mothership from Cataclysm.
EVE I think really breaks new ground in ship artistry, particularly in being wild, alien and assymetric. EVE takes assymetric ship design to new levels. Its not enough to look sleek and beautiful---they also need to jar your senses and provoke a response. Even the ugliest ships in EVE provokes a response and brings an aura in them.
Favs: Omen, Vexor, Merlin, Armaggedon, Raven, Caracal, Punisher, Rifter, Typhoon, Apoc, Thorax, Amarr Impaler, Angel Impaler (NPC), Concord Battleship, Tristan, Executioner, Incursus, and Mammoth.

with all the light's and stuff coming out it looks great when you zoom in realy close...
mega is nice too but i think it needs to stand uo like a vigel and not laying down like it is now .
