If over $225 I might as well get a Zune. (not interested in iPod/iTunes -iDon't iLike iMacintosh ior iApple). Playing movies is not a concern to me, I am old school and think movies should be at on a monitor at least 13 inches. I want an easy to use interface and a unit with enough accessories to use with an armband. This will be used most often when exercising or doing other outdoor activities, so I'd like for it to be easy enough that I don't have to actually look at the screen to control it if I decide to skip a file or move to a different album for example. I could guess the top maker would be Creative.

I tend to be really hard on small electronics and want something that will last. I use to have an iRiver, but it has somehow turned into the iRiver of death and will crash any computer it is connected to. My brother had an iPod for about 6-7 months before it just randomly died, and he is much easier on stuff than I am. I really dont need much, 1 gig storage is more than enough.
