So there i am travelling through 0.0 when i come accross a friendly gate camp. But they have set up a probe thats about 50-60 km off the gate. And i land just on the edge of it. Heres the thing, i was travelling from the opposite side of the gate and was sucked past the gate. Is this intentional? I noticed aswell that if theres a probe on the gate, no matter what distance you select to warp to the gate, I always ended up landing on the edge of the probe.
Why is this? |

It's not a probe, it's a warp disruption bubble. As you may or may not be aware, your warp travel is also a bubble.
The warp disruption bubble attaches itself to any warp bubble forming in it's direction and general vicinity, and causes the warp bubble to end at the disruption bubble. This can either pull you out of warp early, if the bubble is between you and your destination, or extend your warp a short distance, if the disruption bubble is just beyond your destination. Either way the result is the same. You end up landing inside a disruption bubble that you cannot warp out of.
This is normal, and part of game mechanics. It's just annoying when an Alliance that is blue to you leaves their warp disruptor bubble up and running when nobody is there to guard it.

Wow, thats a great description. I'd never quite understood how it worked before. I have a helluva time getting a small mobile bubble to have any effect =(

Edited by: DudTrap on 03/10/2007 17:04:10 If you look at the object you want it placed near, be it a gate. Zoom out and line up the icon for the gate to the other gate, keep moving your ship with the rectangle around it (press shift i think) until its inline with the 2 gate icons, then deploy the bubble.
