Well right now, I have several options to go for..
T2 Ogres T2 Sentries CovOps Stealth Bomber Assault Frig T2 Medium Hybrids
All would take more or less a month to train for.. The problem is, I don't know which one to start with. Right now, I rat in my Domi with sentries, and do PvP with my BlasterMyrm or Vexor with T2 mediums..
help?

Edited by: hellsknights on 04/10/2007 05:20:51 For drones i would go for the T2 heavies, you would profit from this in both PvP and PVE.
As for the Hybrids, unless you plan on the Brutix or a command ship i would wait and complete your Dominix setup.

Depends, but the T2 ogres will greatly increase your DPS, as for sentries i don't use them.
I would think in a PvP situation sentries could be lacking as they don't move and you need to move to them to pick em up. For ratting/mission's they most likely shine in these areas.
I would go for T2 Med. Hybrids after the T2 ogres, but that's just a pirates opinion.

Thats the thing, if fighting a person who knows what they are doing they will just get out of your sentry range.
If you train the t2 Hybrids you can fit some T2 rails or hybrids on your Myrmi "i use rails just for the range".

There is always more to train x:
If you ever want to pvp with things over then your myrm/vexor training for Assault Frigs is the first step too HACs, Commandships, (and eventually?) T2 Battleships.
However, Cov ops/SBs are fun and are stepping stone for your Recons and stuff
\o/
I myself have finally resolved too getting T2 Medium Autos then Blasters (instead of training everything like I always do :P)
Im ugly, just look at my face!

If sporting Ion's you need a MWD and web, that is the reason i use Rails just so i don't have to move around to much just switch ammo.
BTW i quite dislike the Myrmi TBH.

Edited by: hellsknights on 04/10/2007 05:50:33 I fly the Ishtar it's a great ship. Your Ogre 2's will be a forsure need in that ship.
Don't forget you gotta Nano fit that Ishtar, it's simply the best way to go.

Alright, where to begin.
T2 heavy drones (I've trained for all of them) are a godsend for ratting. Can move about. I'd actually think heavies would be better than sentries for ratting due to the fact that enemies might move within or out of the sentry optimal range, even the sentry falloff. Heavies are also better when doing roaming, as you never know how far the enemy ends up being away from you.
Sentries are however good when doing defensive gatecamps, as you can position the sentries around their optimal range, fit a tank and perhaps some guns and set those guns to about the same optimal range (or close if you want to take out those smaller ships).
In regards to t2 hybrids, yes, they're great. If you're going for a ship that uses primarily guns I'd suggest them ohh yeah. For a primary droneship I do wonder if it's worth training for the t2 guns as droneships tend to have great tank with drones for damage, instead of either tank or gank setup, but a full-gank droner can be a serious pain for just about anyone, so putting on guns might just be a very good idea.
As for stealth bombers and CovOps, as SB's require a whole new set of training (Cruise missiles) I'd not advise training for them until you have other ships you're happy to fly for the many months it'll take to fully train your missile skills to a point where your SB will be great. Covops is much the same due to the focus on scanning, which although isn't a requirement is a nice thing to be able to do while flying them.
Assault Frigs are fun to fly! There's really not much else to say about them, they're just fun to fly. Of course, once you've trained Racial Frigate level 5, you might as well do Evasive Maneuvering level 5 (helps all ships) and get Interceptors as well. I can't say much else than "Dogfight at 7km/s is fun!". Of course any AF will take out any Ceptor unless it's a truly no-skill AF pilot. Once you happen to get close enough for web/scram, ceptor is dead :D
Anyhow, I think this is enough of a rant, and I'm sure people will disprove my claim that AF>Ceptors.

I wouldn't spend too much time on t2 drones before we know what these will be like... but thats just me.

T2 drones all the way, at least when the named drones come around, you've got the skills to fly them and T2, which is a staple for mid-high end PvP. -

T2 sentries for ratting are only a luxary and not really needed.
T2 ogres are very significant. Train up ogre II's first and then t2 meds.
Cov ops and stealth bomber are ok but better in a gang even though I've managed to get solo kills in them.
I agree I don't have the features to be a holoreel star. Most people have missed the point that this is Mobsters Online and that carebears are at the bottom of the foodchain. |

Don't forget t2 sentries can be a nice option in gatecamping where your setup is static and you know the range you'll be fighting at (mostly). Obviously, they suck for roving gang work where movement matters more.
That said, t2 heavies will benefit you in more situations.
You might consider t2 projectiles so you have less dependence on cap in pvp (plus the damage type choice is great). __________________________________________________ FOLD. The Ultimate PVP. It really is Us vs. Them. clicky |
