Firstly: The 1500 meter rule STILL APPLIES. if one is surrounded by wrecks or containers, allow a short cut key that will scoop all items in the wrecks/ containers directly to your cargo bay. (A la Diablo 2)
If your cargo is full you will get a little pop up stating that it is so. And as usual wrecks that have been inspected but not looted turn into filled in triangles.
This will save a lot of time having to open cargo bay, click on container, drag all items to your cargo bay, close cargo bay. I think most people will agree that this is a very tedious process.
This system will ONLY WORK on wrecks and cans that belong to YOU. If you are attempting to steal something, then you have to do it the old fashioned way.

1: Why do you close your cargo bay? I keep mine open all the time. 2: If it counts for you, it should count for all. Even thiefs, as it is a valid profession.

1) I prefer to not have to clutter my screen up with unnecessary windows especially in high risk situations. If you like to keep your cargo window open all the time, good for you. Auto loot will not effect whether you want the cargo window open or closed. 2)Thats because no one can say they "accidentally" auto-looted someone else's can or wreck.

Edited by: Anaalys Fluuterby on 04/10/2007 15:48:24 You know you don't have to drag items to your cargo bay?
1) Open container 2) Right-click, select all 3) Drag and drop to the icon to the left of your display (top icon next to the shield/armor/hull readout)
3 movements to loot a wreck, not hard or slow.

Simply adding a "Loot all" button to the wreck/container window would be nice. There¦s a reason why it¦s used in about every mmorpg there is.

Further, I for one do not loot certain types of loot - cap booster charges come to mind first.

Exactly. No need to even open your cargo bay.

Read the forum rules. Since you don¦t want to change the game, why are you even here?
On the subject: I still think that 1 action is better than 3.

you actualy dont have to have the cargo bay open to loot the container.. simply drag all the loot on the small container icon (you know the one next to the health bar.

Sigh.. it seems that people think that by making some simple changes to the UI that makes things a bit easier, and does not affect PvP or anything else for that matter, it's BAD!!!!! Apparently if we dont do enough CLICKING to please these players that be in EVE, we are apparently noobs / cheats / hacks etc.
For God's sake...we do ENOUGH clicking in the game without having to do a totally unnecessary click - drag -drop action for looting.
WoW has a loot all, Diablo 2 allowed a simple which allowed us to auto-collect dropped items in a zip and allowed the player to concentrate on the more important activity, the list is quite long for games that allowed a basic "Loot all" Command, which allowed players to get oon with more important things.
And there's no point saying "EVE is different" and THEREFORE need not change or stream line its UI. The point is to BUILD on past games by learning from their positive aspects and not repeating their negative ones.
