Nice, if people can see how far they can progress in a month there might be better retention of new accounts. Most of the time people make up their minds in the first few hours of playing anyway, but EVE does have a minimum time length before you really feel at home in the game.

I've never lagged in this game except in Jita. 20,000 connected to one server is why theres a daily downtime.

Good going CCP - I think this is a smart move when it comes to economics part. Chances are this will attract allot of rubbish people, we have witnessed some here on forums....
But, even if one in ten stays, good going, 30 days is really an investment and close to 1.5-2.0 MilL SP for a new player, minimum.
And people complain how hard they are having, I remember mining.... in winter... in just an Imicus... and I had.. wait.. I forget now...

It seems it is that last part of the URL that gives the 30-day instead of 14.
For affiliates I dunno how that will work out since in order for an affil to get paid for the click is if the user signs up within a certain time-frame, what if that time-frame expires the same day the 30-days expire, eg before you got 14 days trial and user has to sign up before 14 days after the trial has ended = giving a total of about a month play for an affil to get paid.
30-day trial and maybe the payout is still 14+14 = no payout unless the pilot signs up before the trial has ended.
I dunno. Could be a timelimited offer those 30days as well.

That looks like the White Wolf offer thing there was a Dev Blog about. I'm pretty sure only those special White Wolf invitees get the 30 days, not every single trial account from now on. Without the wwes referrer part it's only 14 days. |

a quick check and signing up for a trial with this link gives you 14 day trial not 30.

Exactly. If you read the WWES website very carefully, you could spot a little link to this. The link claims it only works with White Wolf registered user email addresses, though mind, I haven't tried it (I'm content with just one character). It also claims it's a time-limited offer.
