OK, situation was I warped to a gate at 70km and got dragged through the gate and 15km further to where a small bubble was placed. Then I looked at description of small bubbles [warp disrupt range = 4000m] and wondered .... what exactly is going on here ? Should a bubble 85km away draw you into its range?, how does it do that? ...... Then was explained to me that the 4000m is irrelevant as it will draw you in no mattter how far away you are if you are aligned towards it [thus I guess why the bubble was deployed on the opposite side of the gate from all other warpable objects in system] .... fair enough In which case and this isn't a bug, but a feature, could the desrciption of mobile warp disruptors be updated to reflect this please ? :) I just don't get it tbh ....
Cheers, Babel
NB. Trolls: yes I got blown up, lost some assets, 'boo-hoo' here's me whining some on the forums, more to the point I'm puzzled as to why it happened. Anyways, all replies appreciated - even the silly ones that make the reader feel glad for not being such a moron :)

Basically, your warp is a tunnel. The disruptor is a bubble which can sit anywhere near the exit point of that tunnel. You can be pulled out just short, or dragged a bit out, provided the bubble is in line with your tunnel of warp.
Hope that helps. ---

Thanks - thats exactly what I experienced [being a touch on the carebear side and have never actually deployed any bubbles] ...... I think my issue is that the description "A deployable self powered unit that prevents warping within its area of effect " doesn't mention the aligned-warp-tunnel aspect at all ... Perhaps it should?, perhaps they should be renamed Mobile Warp-Tunnel Disruptors? tbh - they been around long enough, if they are supposed to work like that - CCP should really put it in the description and not leave it up to peeps to find out by trial and error, looks a bit too much like a bug thats taken advantage of :)

I am pretty sure that if you warp in @ over 100km it will not suck you in. Also, it was to be aligned with the direction you are warping from, so if you warp in from a random planet or safespot that is not in alignment it will not suck you in.
Often people set them up aligned with another stargate in the system that they expect people to be warping from. So you have to warp to a random planet in the system first, or some other safespot or celestial object, and then warp in and you will be fine. This is part of standard 0.0 survival tactics. ----------------------------------------------------

Edited by: SengH on 06/10/2007 21:29:56 The main problem with peoples understanding of bubbles was the incident where a noob GM 1-2 years back declared the ability of bubbles to draw you into them an exploit and started reimbursing ships and threatening bans for everyone that used bubbles until it was fixed. As things would have it this happened on a friday and generated a huge 50 page thread about people going omgwtfbbq until a dev came around monday and set things straight.

Mobile bubbles only have a pull distance of 100km. So if your warp terminates 101km from the bubble you wont be sucked in. You also wont get sucked in if you warp in on an uncommon trajectory (IE if traveling through a system. Warp to a planet and then to the next gate).
