well i've been hit with 250 dps, 350 dps, and maybe 2 or 3 times 500+ dps. usually i don't survive
is speed tanking still viable? i've tried various nanoships and it seems you can't get a cruiser above 3km/sec without snakes. probably noobish to say, correct me if wrong.
messed around in quickfit:
Hyperion

285 dps tankable.
ive heard in excess of 400 dps tanked by that ship. or is a t2 battlecruiser easier to tank that much dps?

There's something badly wrong with your maths, I ran the same setup through EFT and got over 1000 dps tankable (with maxed skills).

If you just want to soak up as much damage as possible from many enemies your best bet is a passive tank, and a mega does it better.

2x 1454.75 = 2905 repped
2905/10.2=285 is that bad math?
and with active hardeners it doesn't fit.

Thumbs down on the passive tanking, a Hyperion is made to armor tank and dish out some DPS.
If you want a bait ship, well then setup a bait ship. A bait ship should be set up without thinking DPS think :NOS, NEUT and a mean tank.
With 2 large rep's you should be able to tank 450+dps no prob.

I never said he should passive tank a Hyp, that's why I mentioned the Mega. He asked for a blob tanking ship, when I think blob I think massive dps which makes reps less than useful. Hence passive tank.

Well then for a passive setup he should use either the Drake or the Myrmi.
I would not passive tank a Mega, im sure you can get a better tank with the above mentioned BC's.

Different forms of passive tank being talked about here. On the Mega he meant a plate setup to soak damage, just to survive until help comes or he wins. A passive Myrm or Drake would be a shield regen tank, not designed to soak massive damage. If a blob alphas (and i don't mean the first volley, but going form say 40% to 20%) past the peak on those, its tank is gonna fade fast...

Abaddon with 1600 plate, 3x hardeners 2x EANM and damage control + zyno launcher does it better. Enjoy your HP buffer while the caps jump in.
