Solutions that let you keep Warp to zero...
Station and Stargate communications Jamming field - Disrupts communication between pilots and Stations / stargates for a few seconds preventing them from docking or jumping. In empire space ( .5+) only works on corps you are at war with or if having aggression flags.
And...
Warp disruption field that drops you out of warp near it's edge if you pass through it while warping. This can be put anywhere in the system too. Gives another point of ambush besides gates belts and stations.

We don't need a solution to keep WTZ. There are no plans for taking it away...

That's good to know. I just saw the flood of people who want it changed and thought I'd give a solution. It was number one or two on the dev top 10 list they published.

By a "flood" do you mean the 25-30 whingers on these forums? And warp to zero was the thing that replaced bookmarking, the thing on the list you mentioned.

Well CCP had to get rid of Instas due to the lag they were causing. Bookmarks were never MEANT to be used that way anyway, so Instas were technically an exploit.
Time comes that everyone and their dog is using Instas. CCP announce they're going to remove instas, some people whine that they're going to cancel their subs if this happens so instead of reverting back to the original design (which was, you warp to gates at 15 and use a Microwarpdrive if you want to get there faster) they implemented warp-to-zero.
EVE hasnt really been the same since then

I've played since beta when we did not even have in space bookmarks. People would leave jet cans all over the place just to lock on to the cords. People seem to have missed my point.. I like WTZ. I was just thinking of ways to make some people happy. The alternative system someone else wanted would be unrealistic making WTZ only work in safe space. That got me thinking I need to come up with an idea that fit better in game.

I think you'll find the number of people who want WTZ to go is infinitely smaller then the number of people who want it to stay.

I like that idea visually except that our ships could not fly their way out a wet paper bag on their own so you would just get stuck on the gate constantly. Seriously, the crews who supposedly navigate these ships must be blind or drunk.

Well, the ships wouldn't be flying themselves would they, they'd be tractored in by the gate itself, not that I can see you're getting the evidence for our crews being drunk ><
