Hi all.
I have been playing Eve for about 2. 5 years now (PVE) and i would like to start on the PVP journey...
I want to start a new alt in that area as i don't really want to touch my existing char.
Can anyone give me any tips for a good starting set up for a sole PVP char. i.e. Race skills etc.
Any help to move in that direction would be greatly appreciated.
Also any one know of a good PVP school corp that would suit a experienced eve player but with little PVP knowledge.
Thanks for your time.

all depends on how you want to pvp, solo, gang, fleet... how you want to fight, fast, damage, ew etc...
i¦d say amarr is nice, but many say noooo amarr is bad, lasers only give 1 damage type... sure it is hard to solo in a cruiser with amarr sometimes but can be done :)
gallente is popular and is a drone race.
but in the end it is up to you if you like to stick to small ships or larger ships...
a good tip is to get a goal and go for it, get good at 1 ship and fit it good and you can be deadly both solo, gang, fleet :)

Cheers Reviera for the responce.
Will prob be looking at joining a PVP corp, never having touched PVP (Except in defence) its knowing where to start without wasting time on useless skills and a bad race.
So any direction will be greatly appreciated.

The "conventional wisdom" says to go Caldari Achura and choose a military career; this gives you the best attributes for learning PvP combat skills. Then completely ignore Caldari ships and start training for Gallente ships (i.e. Gallente frigate, gunnery and drone skills) since you specified solo PvP.
Contrarians will say choose a different Caldari bloodline for more balanced skills, since PvP'ers actually need a wide range of skills--not simply command, gunnery, and drones. They will go on to advise you to at least consider Minmatar ships, which are superior to Gallente but require a longer skill path to master.
