I have been the victim of ore theft. I found solace in just getting in a kestrel and letting him borrow some of my torps while I talked to Concord. At any rate this is not an option for most people. So after some considerable thought, I have come up with the one soultion for ore theft that will work for everyone.
CCP make larger secure cans!
With all the technology in EVE, you can't tell me it's not possible to have a secure can that matches the volume of a jettisoned can. So come on guys, I've done my part and found a solution. All that is left to do is implement it. If death doesn't kill me...nothing will. |

I don't disagree with this, but according to the latest CSM log the devs have said that ore theft will come under the new 'criminal flagging' feature being brought in with Shiva in May.
So whatever they decide to do, hopefully it'll mean the end of the ore thieves.

In all honesty....I don't really care about ore thieves. (I just blow them up or we declare a corp war on them.)
My real concern is getting larger secure cargo containers. If death doesn't kill me...nothing will. |

UTTER ignorance.
I really don't want to contribute to YET another ore thievery thread (this is just getting silly) but whiners like this are going to wreck the whole game.
Does anyone (with any intellect at all) ACTUALLY want to see ore theft removed from the game....? If so why stop there..? Why don't we just remove all guns because somebody might do something naughty with them..? Where is the fun if you remove the challenges?
I stole ore and it was hilarious.. one time someone ganked me and managed to warp away form Condord - good on them, That was hilarious as well.
Ore thievery does not need nerfing. either: Buy a secure can Take your chances with concord or shame ore thieves on the forums (I am hoping this criminal flagging will be no more than an in-game shaming system)
Is Eve just a mining sim to all you people?
Let CCP fix proper issues like the 'log on - insta gank'

best post ive seen so far. i got a solution. get out of 1.0 and 0.9 space. go mine in a 0.4. you can blast them there. you ****ant whiney carebears are gonna make more problems for yourself if you dont stop now. the best frigate has 400 some cargo. thats hardly worth fighting about. mine with an indy if you want security. Just Please Please QUIT whining!!

Question for you then, how do you intend to get a can of that size out to the roid feild? Remember, you only get an extra 30% more size from those cans you can buy than what they tqake up in your cargo hold. Maybe once platforms and such are implemnted, they can make a mobile storage station for all you carebears.

well....seeing as how we can fly through solid objects. i don't see getting the can in the cargohold as a problem If death doesn't kill me...nothing will. |

ore theft avoidance is easy. mine somewhere else
ive read a couple of posts on this now, but the simple fact is jettisoned cans are "space junk".
learn to use the map, theres a lot of systems that have no-one in it.
join a corp to protect it/haul it faster.
or pay a pirate to hunt him to death.
mining or pvp, learn to adapt and find a way around it. make ore theft harder for them
i cant beleive the noob corps dont declare war on known ore theives. they may be noobs, but theres a lot of them :)

Best solution to ore theft is a small thermonuclear device planted by the user in the tin which the thief cant see which activates when a removal is made by a non-authorised pilot. Just imagine the intense joy you would feel at his demise

once again....let me say that i don't really care about ore thieves. I just kill them when they pop up.
I just want larger Secure Containers If death doesn't kill me...nothing will. |

Hey, I just called it as I heard it - no need to be disparaging. Get off your high horse, will you?
FYI, I don't think they need to nerf ore thievery either, but it does annoy a lot of people. Because EVE is not just a "mining sim", on the occasion I do mine nowadays the last thing I want to happen is someone nicking my ore I've just spent hours looking at a roid for.
What you may think of as being "hilarious" is downright nasty to others.
