Edited by: ZeyHon Reven on 08/10/2007 01:30:56 Greetings and welcome to my topic.
My account has around 1.6million sp devided between two characters. I have a battleship and multiple tier 2 ships (All Amarr). Back when this account was being played before I reactivated it (I believe around '05), that seemed like a mid-range playable sp amount. I notice now that players from scratch get almost, if not more sp than my account that I spent more than 5minutes creating. Possibly a month+ (I really have a hard time remembering the correct stat's from this mmo).
I have around 7million ISK and two char
Anyhow, any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
-Danke, ZeyHon.

This places you pretty much at a newbie level with a bit more finances than an average new player would have. New characters get about 800K sp from the start, which is equivalent to 3 weeks training. You're pretty much a newb until you get to about 10 mil sp and have decent skills to pilot a variety of ships in your own race. And to be in middle class money-wise you'll need at least a billion ISK in your wallet.

dont be put off, this is a good opportunity for you.
reroll a character with good per mem and WP, train his learning skills (basic 4 adv4) and just mess on with your old character to get the hang of things again
7 mill is good fora reasonable omen/caracal/stabber/vexor fit but i'd reccommend you jump into your racial frigate and run a few basic missions - its almost too easy to get your isk up that way.
so many things have changed even in the time that i have played that my skillpoints are all over the place, making me effective at using most things but master of none (apart from laser barbequeues) but i enjoy my ability to be fleeting with my setups
all in all welcome back, and dont let it dishearten you the whole billion isk thing is about what you would probably want before you went on a killing spree in battleships (so you could easilly replace losses) but toher than that iskis only important for modules etc
dont be disheartened! do some missions in your new character too, easy to get to lvl2 agents andf easy to get another 10-15 mill in the bank while those learning skills increase :D

Hmph, now the decision in which to make my main.
My amarrian was my oldschool main for pirating, which in the "Old" days I was quite effective.
Now with the changes that make my viable setup in the past, not so viable...
Im other words, the steep learning mountain has taken me once again.
I'm left between my more specialized Minmatar and Galente, then my first ZeyHon Amarr who has around 45 skills compared to the 20 and 11 on the first two.
I want to focus entirely into PvP and greatly seek a kind PvP/Pirate coorp, as I remember these to be the most enjoyable times of my eve career.
So as a plea, so much has absoutely changed... I seek assistance whether it be coorp based, or whatever, this is a completely new galaxy for me it seems.
-Danke, ZeyHon.

Edited by: ZeyHon Reven on 08/10/2007 11:30:02 I'm still dieing on advice in which piloting path I should go for pirating (Role Playing enjoyment, no harshness. Just the essence of it, I'm quite generous). Such as my minmatar for instance has two skills at lvl 5 plus almost maxed gunnery skills (The Basics), with navigation 5, now I know I'm missing some critical componets.
This is pretty much the span of my other alt aswell, but my old main is a 43 or so different spread amarr, but many skills, spread out in small values.
Plus my gallente has 14wp/18perception & the amarr 15per/12wp, the minmatar is very level on skills, 8-9 ratio...
-Danke, for any further assistance.

depends on how much patience you have really. Minmatar are by far the trickiest race to train for due to their split system layouts & needing nearly twice as many decent skills trained to be effective.
I would have to say go with caldari until you're back in the swing of things. Probably one of the easiest (and most used) races in the game (mainly due to the ease of the ravens and missions).
The best advice I could really give is browse the ships and modules, skills, & missions and exploration forums. Get yourself some idea of where the game currently is and go from there.

It is a long term goal. Most everyone gets there, if you play smart and don't pwn yourself over and over again by doing stupid things.

I'd recommend Minmatar for pvp but Amarr for pve.
Sanshas and Blood Raiders are some of the best NPCs to rat for or run missions against for new characters that fly armor tanked ships. Their weakest resistances are EM and thermal and that's precisely the damage output of Amarr lasers so killing goes fast. Plus it is extremely easy to tank them with armor, especially that Amarr can armor tank like no other race. If I could use a 3 mil sp character in a Gallente ship that isn't as ideal as an Amarr ship in tanking ability or damage type to rat for the above rats in 0.0 and make 20 mil an hour, so can you. I'd suggest joining some corp or alliance that lives the in the south 0.0 in Sansha or Blood Raider territory, getting some jump clones, and you can have both pvp and make really nice ISK there. With missions it will take you months to get to level 4's where you can make 20 mil per hour in bounties and that's only if you get a mission that's worth farming (doing it over and over again for the bounties instead of completing it) which isn't every single mission you get assigned. Missions are also repetitive and there is no danger, no trill of risk like with 0.0 ratting. And Amarr ships aren't great for mission running (Minmatar ships utterly suck at it) - Caldari or Gallente is what most everyone uses.
