So due to some new demos coming out i wanted to play, i made the mistake of upgrading my drivers to current. I dont remember what i was using before, but ever since the update if i try to run 2 accounts at the same time, the second one wont have stars in the background.. just plain white. And its really laggy, unplayable even. Now its happening sometimes when i just have one account open. ANyone run into this problem and found a workaround? |

I'm Having this problem as well. Ati X1950XT - when using two clients in windowed mode one of the clients get white background in space and really lagging. Any help appreciated.

I'm also having this problem with a X1950pro, i've just submited a petition with my logserver and dxdiag. After wiping everthing that is eve, downloading and reinstalling i found that if you open and close the map with eiter client then undock space will be white for both accounts.

Not only the x1950 has this problem.
My x1900xt has the same problem.
The problem came with the latest patch.
I have tried some previous verions of the drives. No effect.
So i think CCP has to take a look at this problem.
I hope with the new Trinity patch the problem is solved.

Same with AIW X1800 Pro PCI-E.
I had limited results after uninstalling .NET 3.0 from MS and two patches that were released on that day.
I have no white screen in systems with low player count and have also seen the white-out resolve itself while both accounts are still in the same system and not docked.

Though I hate me too posts, i'd like to add that I have this issue too. It doesnt happen all the time, but pretty often when you run two clients in windowed mode. I got an Ati 1950 Pro as well. My dual core has no problem at all running two clients, so lack of cpu is not an issue (I assume).

The only thing i can do is the following:
When the problem occurs close the client that has NOT the problem.
Then restart it and the problem is gone for a while.
Will not work all the time.

ITS WORKING :D IŠve installed the new 7.10 Catalyst and had the same problems as you guys (1950XT Card)
I installed the 7.9 Hotfix XP driver and everything works fine now...

Same issue.
X1950GT with Catalyst 7.10 drivers, white screen if two accounts are logged and both undocked.
Did anybody get a reply re the problem?
I am about to submit my dxinfo, if it will do any good... 
Are only ATi cards affected?

I managed to reproduce this exact error just now, not by dual logging but instead by moving a single logged client onto the second monitor I have here (I did change it to secondary first). Less than 5 seconds passed, big white screen.
Anybody else with this issue use multiple monitors?
I'm going to disable the second monitor and then try dual logging, I'll let you know how that goes.
EDIT: Nope, still does it, so not a problem with dual monitor setups...

So ive tested a lot now and changed the driver often... IŠve installed the Catalyst 7.2 (Link) and dont get any whitescreen for around 4 hours now...
Hope that helps (till Trinity hits the floor)

I imagine it's a problem with the drivers as opposed to the game, but then who am I to say...

Same issue here, I got another card in the X1X00-series. So it's definitely ATi-related, and not just the 1950-model.
I'm seriously considering switching over to nVidia.

im using an X1650 Pro here with the 7.10 catalyst and it is working fine, better than the catalyst i had installed before even.

think ig ot the same problem cant run 2 cliets at once one of the crashes to desktop if i'm lucky most often i get blue screen and a dx error then computer reboot.
Using an nvidia 7950GX2 card
the report after reboot lists 2 files as the problem

actualy this misght be somthign else cus it just hapened while running a single client :\ this is so messed up and dont like the crash reboot cant posibly be good for my computer.
The game worked fine before and havent changed anything since last i played.

thats not the same problem. That is most likely a driver problem. Unistall the drivers, run driver cleaner, install latest official drivers from nvidia's website.
if that doesn't work try the same process with beta drivers. next try driver from the manufacturers website. STILL DOESN"T WORK? try re-installing windows or calling the manufacturer.

ok I lie.. like a dummy I had 7.10 and 7.1 sitting next to eachother in my folder.. I installed the 7.10 at first.. 7.1 does appear to correct the problem so far.. I am using the omega versions of the drivers as well since they seem to make ever run a bit smoother.

Nice, whit the new Trinity it has the problem 100%
Cant even play the game with 2 clients anymore.

edit: with the premium content off the client runs normal.
So, no trinity for me.

Hi guys,
I had the same problem when I bought a X1950Pro to replace a dying nVidia 7950GT. When I updated the drivers to the latest from ATI (this was back in August), Eve GUI had all kinds of problems. I reverted to the version that came with the card in the box and have had no problems since. Trinity Premium runs fine, too. I'm at work, so I can't tell you the exact driver version off the top of my head. My suggestion is roll back to the version the card shipped with.

I've had anradeon x1950pro for a while now and always used the Omega drivers.
Work like a charm for me and give me nicer resolutions for runing a few clients windowed.
Though before the Trinity patch I could run 3 clients fine, now I'm down to 2 (with the classic client). I can run the premium client ok, but imo the hit to performance isn't worth it for me
